Sizing Information
I measured a selection of these pants and found the waist size of the pants to measure out consistently at 2” larger than the stated size. Most men’s jeans will be sized this way…. it’s called vanity sizing. We recommend you measure your waist or the waistband of your favorite jeans and use the chart below to see what size pants you need. Most people will choose the same size they wear in regular men’s jeans.
Unlike most other Klim pants, these pants don’t have the Velcro adjusters on the side, but rather they are set up with a waist bank with belt loops just like jeans. So you want to choose a size as close to what you measure from your own favorite jeans using the chart, the waist band is not stretchy, so don’t choose a smaller size with the idea they’ll stretch to fit.
Inseam on the regular size pants is about 33” and the inseam on the tall sizes are about 35”.
Here is the chart I put together to show you how each pant size measures out so you can select the size based upon what you come up with when you measure yourself.
Pant Size | Max Waist Size | Inseam Regular | Inseam Tall |
---|---|---|---|
30 | 32 | 33 | - |
32 | 34 | 33 | 35 |
34 | 36 | 33 | 35 |
36 | 38 | 33 | 35 |
38 | 40 | 33 | 35 |
40 | 42 | 33 | 35 |
42 | 44 | 33 | - |
Our Two Cents
The Induction Pant is a much anticipated addition to the Klim lineup for 2022.
For several years now the Klim Induction Jacket has been one of their best selling summer jackets and now they finally have a pant to match. These Induction Pants use the same Karbonite™ mesh from the jackets. It is high strength and a relatively wide weave for maximum airflow at just about any riding speed. The stretch material above the knees, in the crotch gusset, and across the top of the seat reminds me of the material on the Marrakesh but it might be slightly less stretchy. The cuffs have snap adjusters and a zippered calf so you can snug the leg down over or into your boots. There are pockets at the hips/thighs for storage with zippered closures.
The Induction Pants come with D3O level 1 armor in the knees and hips. This armor is the D3O LP armor, which is quite well ventilated. If you were looking to upgrade to level 2 armor we suggest the Klim D3O LP Pro armor which is listed in the related products below. The key impact areas like the knee and seat are 550D Cordura® so even with all that venting you still have excellent protection. The inner knees have a perforated goat leather overlay for additional grip and protection as well.
The styling on these pants matches the jackets, it is subtle yet aggressive. The stretch panels serve as an accent on the body of the pants without looking too wild. The Klim logos on the black colorway are especially cool looking, they have a red background outlining the grey logo and it really pops and grabs the eye. Klim has chosen to use 3M™ Scotchlite™ carbon black reflectives at the knees and cuffs. This material blends in fairly well until the light hits it and then it really shines so you’ll be visible riding at night.
The Klim Induction Pants are every bit as great as the best selling Induction Jackets and I’m sure these will be another fast mover in the Klim line. The quality is always there with Klim, and the features on these pants will appeal to any rider that wants to beat the heat and still have a high level of protection. :: Mike, 04/26/2022
