The Held Rodney II gloves are an evolution of their popular summer gloves.
The Rodney II features are very similar to the earlier version, but they’ve included Temperfoam knuckles this time around. The gloves are colorfast and sweat-proof goatskin with kangaroo palms. Kangaroo leather is very soft to the touch but has a slightly higher abrasion resistance than goat or cowhide leather. The palm is unlined so you get a great feel of the controls and it is also fully perforated (as is the backhand) so you will get plenty of airflow in these gloves. There is a suede reinforcement strip on the palm to improve the lifetime of the glove in this key wear area.
The palms feature dual Superfabric® sliders and a reinforcement layer extends up the pinky. The left glove includes an integrated visor wiper on the index finger. Special connective material on the index and thumb seems to work well on Apple and Android devices here at the shop. The cuff is a single hook and loop strap that allows you to get a secure closure on the wrist. The strap has a small TPR piece that allows you to easily loosen the gloves while wearing them.
Overall the Rodney II are a worthy successor to the original Rodney gloves and has improved in a few key areas to make them even better. These gloves are designed for summer riding and should work well in warm to hot environments. :: Mike, 04/22/2022
