Cruiser riders LOVE basic black, and if you are in the market for a basic black textile jacket, you are in the right place! This one includes armor for the shoulders and elbows and has provisions for adding a back pad.
The shell of this jacket is made of heavy duty traditional nylon material which will be long wearing and abrasion resistant should you be in a fall. And the shoulders and elbows are reinforced with a second layer of a heavier duty material too. The jacket comes with a set of standard elbows and shoulder armor inserts (removable if you like). There is also a pocket to add a back pad. I’d recommend the D3O unit listed below. (choose the women’s size in either thickness… I’d recommend the level 1 thickness).
This jacket should work well for a pretty wide range of temps… all seasons except mid-summer I’d say. The shell is solid textile material and there is a removable full-sleeve thermal liner, so you can zip in the liner and have pretty good insulation against the cold. In warmer weather, remove the liner and you’ll be good too.
One nice little feature is on the collar. There is a magnet inside the little flap that closes at the base of the neck so there is no exposed snap, and if you don’t want to close the collar, you can fold the flap under the there is another magnet to keep it there.
