Our Two Cents

The Orion GTX boots from Sidi are new for 2025 and I would consider these a touring style boot. A nice benefit to these boots is that they come in a very wide size range from a size Euro 39 to a size Euro 50. Typically most boots max out at around a size 47 or 48, so it is nice to see a size 50 available. Speaking of sizing, sizing seems to be accurate, I normally wear a size US 12 or Euro 46, I tried on a size 46 (which also converts to a 12) and it fit me as I expected it to. Sizing advice is to get the Euro size you normally wear or to use the provided chart to wear your normal US size to Euro.

The GTX in the name stands for Goretex, so obviously these boots are waterproof, and the overall construction is a combination of microfiber as well as premium PU injected hyper fabric. This combination yields a CE 2 1 1 1 WR rating and offers excellent mobility and comfort.

The primary closure is a long zipper with a bit of velcro at the top, the zipper goes all the way down to the bottom of the boot so getting in and out is super easy, the zippers are high quality YKK zippers, but my one complaint is that the zipper doesn't have a velcro top to it to keep it secured here at the top of the boot. I do also like the inclusion of a pull tab, this makes getting in and out of the boot easier and there is a bit of reflective material to help with low light visibility.

On the back there is PU injected Hypertex Super Fabric, this is going to be protective but also flexible, and at the heel there is also an overlay that features high density protection and a nice looking sidi logo.

That high density protection will continue also in the ankle and toe box, there is some more PU injected Hypertex Superfabric on the front, and then just above that there is a TPU and Nylon Tibia protector. Lastly on the front and symmetrical across both boots is the shifter protector. Keep in mind that it isn't raised or an overlay but instead a different finish to that part of the boot.

Overall the Sidi Orion GTX boots offer a good mix of comfort, fit and protection, while coming in a wide range of sizes. The one thing that doesn't have range however are the color choices, as there is only one, the all black. Overall a very comfortable boot and one that is worth checking out if you are in the market for a tall touring boot. :: Damir 12/6/25
