The Tornado 4 H2O pants from REV’IT! are a multi-season pant that has both great ventilation, high level of protection as well as the ability to be waterproof. These pants can be worn individually but are designed to pair perfectly with REV’IT!’s Tornado 4 jacket. Like the jacket these pants are in their 4th generation and have been a staple in REV’IT!’s line up for years. Designed as a touring style pant the Tornado 4s breathe plenty of air with the liner removed but also are waterproof when the 2L Hydratex waterproof liner is installed, additionally if things get cold the detachable thermal liner has your back, really allowing you to battle the weather regardless of if its wet or dry, warm or cold.
Overall construction of the pants features Polyester mesh, Polyester RipStop, Polyester Stretch, and of course the Hydratex liner. Overall this combination of materials has earned the Tornado 4s a CE Level AA abrasion resistance rating while providing a fit that is listed as regular, meaning that there will be minimal if any taper. For impact protection the Tornado 4 pants feature SEEFLEX CE-level 2 Knee Protectors and SEESMART CE-level 1 Hip Protectors, as well as soft spacer mesh protector pockets to ensure that armor components stay in place. To further enhance safety there is laminated reflection at the calves, and on the upper legs.
Additional features include adjustment straps at the calves and waist as well as adjustment tabs at the ankle. For convenience there are also slit pockets on the hips that are close via zipper as well as grip panels at the seat, these are especially great when you are riding in the rain/wet weather as they help you grip your seat. The Tornado 4 pants also feature a B-lock button closure at the front, stretch at the knees, a short connection zipper to match up to your jacket and stretch at the knees.
Overall the Tornado 4 H20 pants from REV’IT! can be used as regular pants or as overpants and provide great adjustability to help you deal with changing weather conditions. I especially like that there is plenty of ventilation on the back of the pants coming from the included mesh to keep your legs cool as you are sitting on your bike. If you are looking for a multi season pair of adventure or touring pants the Tornado 4s are a great place to start. :: Damir 4/27/24
