Sizing Information

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT!’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style is a sport/street style so there is only a moderate taper from chest to waist, and with a style like this you can effectively tailor the fit of the waist with the side waist adjusters, which makes the jacket look great and fit great, so don’t worry if your waist/belly is smaller than the max. We only list this for those that have a belly so they can know what minimum size they’d have to choose to fit the belly.

Note: Add about 1” to your chest and belly measurements if you plan to add a back protector. Add an additional 1” inch to your chest if you will add the chest protectors.

Our Two Cents

The swiftblade jacket from REV’IT! Is brand new for Spring 2025 and is a part of REV’IT!’s Ninety-Five Capsule Collection. This jacket is primarily mesh based so it will do very well in the warmer weather, especially as the mesh weave is quite wide.

Sizing advice for the Switblade is to get your normal REV’iT! Size or size you normally wear in most major european brands, but keep in mind that this jacket is a regular fit or regular cut, vs say a sports or racing cut that normally feature more aggressive tappers, I am not saying that this jacket runs large or is overly loose, but it isn’t as tight or as form fitting as the sport or race offerings.

Taking a look at overall construction the Swiftblade features 3L Soft Shell, Polyester Mesh, Buffalo Leather, Artificial Leather and 600D Polyester Ripstop. This combination of materials along with the included Seesmart CE Level 1 Armor at the shoulders and elbows earns a CE AA rating. For additional protection there is a pocket for the optional Level 2 back protector.

Overall I am a fan of this jacket and the 95 collection as a whole, the colors, the graphics and the overall design are very cool and I think REV’IT! Pulled it off. I also like that each jacket has a bit of a “louder” interior with multiple bright colors.

Jumping into some of the details, featured is a simple, single button collar that looks and works well, on the outside of the collar there is buffalo leather, and then on the inside there is a nice soft and padded feeling to the collar so it is very comfortable. The main zipper features pull tabs that are nice and wide and easy to use with gloves on and off.

The main zipper doesn’t have a flap to cover the zipper but the zipper does have this raised almost piping if you will on each side of it and it's even more pronounced at the bottom to assist with not scratching the fuel tank.

There are two zippered pockets, these are basically zippered hand warmers and they offer plenty of space to fit your hands. There are also velcro adjustment tabs at the waist, simple classic design here that just works, you basically make it as tight or loose as you need it and you are good to go. There are also the same type of velcro adjusters at the cuff as well as button tab adjusters at the biceps. Speaking of the biceps, there, REV’IT! Also added in some reflective material for a good amount of low light visibility.

As far as interior features, there isn't too much going on, there is only one pocket on the inside, it does have a nice zipper closure and it is big enough to fit a large phone, my iphone 15pro max fits just fine but keep in mind that it is not waterproof. The interior does have a nice mesh liner that aids in comfort and further helps with breathability, and at the bottom you do get a short connection zipper for matching up to revit pants, or their safeway belt accessory, as well as jeans loop hooks.

Overall I think the Switblade jacket is quite nice and solid value for the money, it falls fairly inline with other REV’IT! And other major European brand mesh jacket offerings when it comes to features and cost, but two things that separate it, it brakes away from the traditional look, I think most mesh jackets look rather similar and the Swiftblade doesn't and second is that it is CE AA rated, many mesh jackets are only CE A rated. If you like the 90’s look and style it’s definitely worth checking out. :: Damir 6/18/25
