We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT!’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style is not a “sport” oriented style so there is not a lot of taper from chest to waist. I’d describe the fit as “casual”.

Our Two Cents

The Saros WB jacket from REV’IT! is one cool jacket and just oozes casual style. The first time I saw one I was immediately impressed with how casual it looked and comfortable it felt all the while being CE AA rated. Seriously, if you have a chance to check one out in person, you should. It almost feels just like a regular, casual, off the bike jacket, so again, for it to be CE AA rated is quite impressive.

Overall construction is primarily softshell 3L, some reflection in the laminated bits around the front pockets, as well as rib knit in the waist and at the cuffs. The rib knit is quite comfortable and really stretchy improving overall fit and mobility.

Sizing is true and accurate, at roughly six foot and 215lbs I normally wear a size XL in REV’IT!, and in the Saros a size XL fits me exactly as I would expect it to, so sizing advice is to get whatever size you normally wear in REV’IT! Or most major European brands.

A few features to point out, there are two zippered, handwarmer style pockets on the front, a wind catcher flap behind the main zipper (keep in mind that the WB in its name stands for Wind Break, the Saros Jacket as a whole is designed to block wind). The hood is adjustable via two draw cords and also features an anchor button on the back to keep the hood pinned while riding. There is also a good sized reflective stripe on the hood, a short connection zipper, jeans loop hooks, thumb loops, as well as one internal pocket.

Included armor is SEESMART CE Level 1 at both the elbows and shoulders (note that that elbow armor is not adjustable) and there is a pocket on the back for the optional back protector.

Overall a great looking jacket that is comfortable, casual, and offers solid protection as well. Definitely hits the mark for a jacket that can blend in both on and off the bike. I will also say that I think all three color options look better in person than they do in the photos. :: Damir 9/1/25
