The Sand 5 H2O are the go-to gloves for the rider that doesn’t let grey skies and the possibility of rain get in the way of their riding plans.

A strong foundation:

  • These gloves have been engineered specifically for riding on or off road during unstable weather conditions in spring, summer, or fall. By incorporating a waterproof and breathable hydratex|Z-liner construction with McFit® technology, these features help hands to stay dry and have a good grip when it’s slippery out there. We also introduce the tri-fleece push-pull liner to the Sand 5 H2O gloves (a feature normally found on our GTX aka GORE-TEX gloves) giving them the extra comfort factor and a premium feel.

The safety element:

  • Armoring hands comes in many forms with the Sand 5 H2O gloves. The most prominent ones being the hard knuckle along with the TPU thumb protector and palm slider. TPR finger knuckles, reinforcements at the palm, a combination of leather and textile, an even larger visor wiper than before made of suede, and thanks to the rugged pull tab on the cuff, slipping on these gloves is a breeze.

  • PWR|Yarn
  • Temperfoam® at cuff

  • Temperfoam® underneath protectors

Sizing Information

Most REV’IT! gloves feel a bit snug as compared to other American brands we carry but these are an exception. I’d say this one runs fairly true to size for the American market, so I’d advise you to choose the size you normally wear in gloves. If you are sometimes between sizes, then you might want to choose larger since these are going to be a somewhat tailored fit. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair.

Our Two Cents

The Sand 5 H20 gloves from REV’IT! are the 5th generation of waterproof Sand gloves, keep in mind there is also a Sand 5 NOT H2O version, that version is mesh based and is not waterproof like these gloves.

So what are the differences and similarities between the Sand 5 H20 gloves and the Sand 4 H2O gloves that they replace? Lets start with the top side, both gloves are what I would consider a medium length glove not quite a full gauntlet but definitely longer than a normal short cuff glove, both gloves are CE 1KP certified with a hard knuckle, and both gloves are waterproof with their Hydratex Z-liner.

Key differences here is that I think the sand 5 is more refined, both in the overall look in the design as well as in features like the knuckle protector, both are protective but the sand 5 version looks cleaner and less bulky. To me the finger knuckle protectors also look more polished and you now get reflective material in the accordion stretch panels here on the fingers.

Overall alot of similarities but it's definitely clear that the 5 is an overall improvement and evolution over the 4. Lets look on the inside of the hand, both gloves have an overlay panel on the palm but the one on the Sand 5 H2O offers more grip. Both gloves have a palm slider and a thumb knuckle slider, but the one on the 5 is a hard slider versus more of a rubber feeling slider on the 4 and the primary difference in overall fit and feel comes from the fact that the Sand 5 H2O gloves are externally stitched while the 4s were internal. To me wearing both in a size large, my normal size in revit gloves, the Sand 5s overall just feel softer and more comfortable. Again definitely an improvement.

Both gloves still feature a double closure with adjusters, but again the ones on the Sand 5 H2O just look more refined. Both gloves feature touch screen compatible thumbs and index fingers and both gloves are made from multiple materials, though the main difference here is that the Sand 4 H2O gloves have both cowhide and goat leather, combined with pwr shell stretch while the Sand 5 H2O gloves combine goatskin leather, inside out goat suede as well as pwr 4-way shell stretch. Overall the material change further aids the increase in comfort and contributes to the more polished overall look.

If you are a fan of the previous generation Sand H2O line of gloves you should definitely check out the Sand 5 H2O iteration, definitely a step in the right direction by REV’IT! To me most waterproof and cold weather based gloves feel bloated and too much like ski or snow gloves, not the case here with the Sand 5 H20, they are actually quite sporty and sleek and give almost the same level of comfort, feel and dexterity as their non-waterproof counterparts. Overall a glove that I highly recommend. :: Damir 9/17/25
