  • Its dark exterior is coupled with the bold and clear strategically placed prints at chest pocket, backside, and underarm, along with a flurry of color inside. The retro-inspired bolts of lightning with blasts of bright hues can’t be missed. Along with the race-derived laminated prints including the year of REV’IT!’s birth (1995) and our Shield logo. Not forgetting that the shoulder inserts and elbow patches have a contrast material made with ripstop.

Our Two Cents

The Payload jacket from REV’IT! is a mid layer jacket to help keep you warm, very important here, this is not a protective riding jacket, it doesn’t feature armor or any abrasion resistance. This is a jacket that is meant to be worn as a layer under your protective motorcycle gear, or casually off the bike. 

With that said, the Payload jacket is packed with style! A part of REV’IT!’s ‘95 capsule collection, it has multiple logos and a graphics package that are meant to invoke the fun of the 90s. Personally I am not ready to consider the 90’s old enough to have the need for a tribute, but my feelings aside I think the entire collection is a rather cool concept from REV’IT! and the overall look to me, across the entire collection, is quite nice. 

A few features to note, this jacket is fully reversible, so you can pick if you want the more sensible black color on the outside, or if you want the bright and loud digital camo on the outside, either way it looks good. Additionally there are hand warmer style pockets with zipper closure on both sides of the jacket, but keep in mind that the chest pocket is only featured on one side. Also featured is a drawstring at the waist to adjust fit as well as spandex at the cuff to keep the sleeves tight around your wrists. Lastly there is also a drawstring to adjust the hood, and the collar of the jacket goes up quite high to protect your neck from the elements. 

Overall construction is soft shell 3L with polyester ripstop, ripstop 600D and most importantly Primaloft Gold Insulation to keep you nice and warm. Keep in mind that this is the good stuff here, it is considered the world’s best down alternative. Again this is not protective in terms of riding a motorcycle, but it is protective against the weather. I think it looks really good, is comfortable, keeps you quite warm and works really well off the bike as a stand alone jacket. Definitely worth checking out. :: Damir 8/15/25
