The Parallax jacket from REV’IT! Is a very interesting jacket as it attempts to cross or fuse two very different worlds, on one hand you have sport riding, think tight, classic looking, sport leather jacket and on the other think comfortable, vintage, cruiser vibes. Once you put those two worlds together you have the Parallax, a leather jacket that comes with CE AA rated abrasion resistance, overall sport like performance with vintage style and flare. Outside of the abrasion resistance, the parallax also comes with SEESMART CE-level 1 Elbow and Shoulder Protectors as well as compartments for the separately purchased SEESOFT CE-level 1 Divided Insert Chest Protector and SEESOFT CE-level 2 Insert Back Protector. Additionally the Parallax also features safety seams, TPU protection at the shoulder and laminated reflection on the back to keep you safe and visible.
Overall construction of the Parallax is brought to you by cowhide leather, polyester stretch and artificial Nubuck. And to make sure you can control your temperature while wearing it, it also features perforation on the upper front if you get hot as well as a detachable thermal body warmer if you get cold. Other comfort features include stretch at the waist, shoulders, inside arms, armholes and the cuff and the jacket also features a soft edge at the collar as well as comfort cuffs. Some additional benefits included three inner pockets, a Napoleon pocket, jeans loops and of course both a short and long connection zipper option. REV’IT! Describes this jacket as a tight fit, but I would argue that it isn’t quite as tight as the control or Argon 2 jackets, jackets that are more race than the Parallax.
Overall, if you have seen my video review on the Matador jacket from REV’IT! You would know that it is one of my favorite leather sport jackets of all time, and in many ways to me, the Parallax looks and feels like a more retro, and possibly cruiser version of the Matador that I love so much. The Parallax feels comfortable, fits well and gives a totally cool vintage vibe. I am a big fan. For what it’s worth I am picking one up personally. Last thing to note with the cool design of the Parallax jacket is that each jacket features a unique patina. Please note that this unique patina may appear differently in pictures. :: Damir 3/18/24
