A PPE zippered hoodie:

  • Designed with the familiarity and style of a hooded sweatshirt, the Parabolica 2 offers a cozy alternative to traditional motorcycle jackets. Crafted with urban aesthetics in mind, it seamlessly integrates protective elements while maintaining a casual and relaxed look.

How we did it:

Armor for the Parabolica 2 hoodie comes in the form of our ultra-thin, impact-absorbing SEESMART protectors at the shoulders and elbows.

We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We generally buy test jackets in a Medium for Huey and an XL for Dewey (41” and 45” chest respectively) assuming these jackets would fit “normally”, and were able to get them on the two mannequins, but it was a tight fit (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

We measured both the max chest and belly of every size in this jacket and we find them to run consistent with many past styles of REVIT jackets… which is to say consistently smaller than what you find with most alpha sized men’s jackets. I’ve put together a chart for you to choose a jacket based upon your chest size (see below). And for most people, that means you’ll have to buy one size larger jacket than you normally wear in men’s clothing. I’d highly recommend you use a tape and measure yourself and then use the chart to choose the correct size.

Once you determine the correct size for you, the fit of the jacket is easy. The stretch fabric and elasticated waist make this jacket fit a little smaller than most current REV’IT! styles but they do stretch if you want a tight fit, if you are looking for a more relaxed fit you probably want to go up one size. We’ve included a waist/belly measurement so you can make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough for both your chest and belly. Those with a waist that is trimmer than the chart indicates for their chest size should still be fine as the hem has an elasticated band keeping it tight to the torso.

Our Two Cents

The Parabolica 2 riding hoodie from REV’IT! Is new for spring 2025 and is an update to their original Parabolica hoodie that I and many of our customers were big fans of. If you are looking for casual hoodie style, while still getting plenty of protection (keep in mind both versions of the Parabolica are CE AA rated), and are not looking for an all mesh build, the Parabolica is an excellent option.

Though the design isn’t a complete overhaul, in fact it is mostly the same minus a few key changes, that isn’t by any means a bad thing. In fact, it’s exactly what we had hoped for. The original Parabolica hoodie was quite good, so fixing something that isn’t broken just isn’t necessary. Where the major changes took place are in three key areas, the first being sizing, the original ran quite small, I normally wear a size XL and I had to wear a XXL to be comfortable. Not the case with the Parabolica 2, it fits true to size and it has a relaxed fit so it isn’t overly tight. Sizing recommendation here is to get your “normal” size, you don’t have to size up like you did on the original version (take a look at the size chart or give us a call for additional sizing help). The second major change is the elastic waist band and bands on the sleeves, these are quite comfortable and add a nice contrast to the sand and red colorways and to me do a better job of keeping the hoodie in place. To me the new elastic band feels better and looks better than the original version, but this could be subjective. The third major change on the Parabolica 2 vs the original is going to be the inside or end of the sleeves. In the original, there was a long inner liner almost glove like thumb loop design, not ever sure what to call it but to me it wasn't super comfortable as it sometimes bunched up in my gloves and quite often I just avoided using it up tucking it back into the sleeves away from my hands. On the Parabolica 2, REV’IT! Opted to just use traditional thumb loops and to me that is the simple and quite frankly better way to go, so overall, an improvement.

As mentioned earlier the Parabolica 2 is CE AA rated, includes CE Level 1 Seesmart armor at both the elbows and shoulders (keep in mind that the elbow armor is NOT adjustable, but it is placed what to me feels proportionate when comparing it to the size of the jacket, so I don’t think it not being adjustable will be an issue for most), and there is a pocket for the optional level 2 back protector. Speaking of pockets there are two hoodie style hand warmer pockets in the front outside of the hoodie, but keep in mind there are no pockets on the inside.

For more detail be sure to check out our full breakdown video in the description above or on our YouTube channel. The last thing that I want to mention with the Parabolica 2, like the original, it does have a fairly high collar, so keep in mind that if you have the hoodie on, the collar will go up almost all the way to your chin, some people like this, others don’t so just keep that in mind. If you are looking for hoodie style while still getting good protection the Parabolica 2 is worth checking out. I think that REV’IT! Did a great job in improving one of my personal favorite riding hoodies.  :: Damir 6/1/25
