The Noru Boken Adventure Waterproof Jacket is a 3/4 touring style jacket with a built in waterproof liner and tons of storage.
The Boken jacket has a fixed liner between the outer shell and the
inner lining that keeps the inside completely waterproof. There are two
hand warmer pockets with waterproof storage pockets over the top at the
belly and two smaller waterproof storage pockets at the chest. Around to
the lower back there is another large waterproof storage pocket. Moving
to the interior of the jacket there is a one napoleon pocket and two
hook and loop pockets near the waist. There are two snap tabs at the
back of the jacket for attaching it to your favorite pair of riding
pants via beltloops. One thing of note on the interior is that there are
4 red snap tabs, two at the shoulders and two near the waist (there is
also one in each sleeve). These tabs are for the Noru Adventure Jacket
Liner (sold separately, see related products below). The Adventure
Jacket liner is an easy addition to this jacket to allow for riding in
cooler weather.
The separate Adventure Jacket liner will help you ride in cooler
weather but what about heat? The cuffs have two way zippers that allow
you to open them up and there are two zippered vents at the chest and
one large exhaust vent at the upper back that all allow air to flow
across the fixed waterproof membrane of the jacket. The upper back
opening also houses a pocket to store a water bladder (sold separately) BUT
while there is a hole for the tube to feed out and over the shoulder,
there is no hanger in the pocket so gravity will have the bladder
sitting at the bottom of the pouch. They almost had an awesome feature
here for a jacket at this price point!
The jacket has the usual safety features, CE level 1 armor at the
elbows and shoulders and a foam back pad that can be upgraded (see
related products below), and nighttime reflectives at the chest, elbow,
and across the shoulders at the back. There are adjustment straps at the
waist, forearm, biceps, and cuff and a drawcord at the hem.
The fixed waterproof liner means that this jacket will work from
warm to cool temperatures and if you add in the the optional thermal
Adventure Jacket liner from Noru you can get into cold temps as well.
Overall the Noru Boken Adventure Waterproof Jacket is a good option for
riders looking for a touring/adventure jacket at a killer price. ::
