These Tactical pants/shorts are make of super stretchy material and feel very much bicycle shorts. Most people can just order the size they usually wear in men’s clothing. I’ve included a chart below that lists approximate waist size ranges so you can choose based on your waist size in inches.

Klim has re-engineered the Tactical shirt, shorts and pants for 2019. We’ve included “2019” in the product name so you’ll know it’s the new stuff as compared to the previous Tactical products. Hint: the older version has black armor inserts where the 2019 version armor is yellow.
The “chassis” of these garments is a combination of very comfortable stretchy material. The quality is top notch and they feel terrific. The armor is the story here though. It’s a PORON® XRD® branded armor which is super soft and flexible but upon impact the armor material becomes momentarily rigid to help absorb and “spread out” impacts. I’ve seen similar products for MANY years, so it is a legitimate and accepted material for use in motor sports or for any activity where you anticipate impacts. This armor used in the 2019 product is a significant improvement over the previous version. Here’s a link to the manufacture’s video explaining the technology. The video shows a variety of armor shapes/sizes. The armor in the Tactical gear are perforated pads that are approx 1/4” to 3/8” thick depending on their position in the garment.
Klim is of course involved in the protective motorcycle apparel biz, so the product is offered for off road and adventure riders who don’t have impact protection in their outer layer (like an off road jersey for example). But heck, I’d suggest these products for other sports as well. I think you’ll agree when you try them on for yourself. Choose from the shirt, shorts or pants. The pictures of each tell the story with regard to the body parts covered by armor. The pants are simply a full leg length undergarment with the same armor setup as the shorts (just longer). Consider the pants over the shorts if you think the longer coverage would help keep your legs comfortable from outer clothing that might rug you wrong.
