I measured a selection of these jeans and found the waist size of the pants to measure out consistently 2” larger than the stated size. Most men’s jeans will be sized this way these days…. it’s called vanity sizing, so most people will be OK to order the same size they usually wear in men’s jeans. As a double check, you can measure your waist or the waistband of your favorite jeans and use the chart to find a pair. Three inseam lengths are offered so choose the inseam you normally wear. If you plan to roll up the pant let to show the reflective strip, get a longer inseam.

Our Two Cents

The outrider pant from Klim is a multipurpose riding pant with the durability and functionality of a work pant combined with motorcycle pant protection. Overall construction is a durable and breathable stretch canvas and double layered cuffs and knees for added durability. This combination earned a CE Level A abrasion resistance rating. Overall this outrider pant has increased comfort over its predecessor and now has a streamlined interior that doesn’t feature a liner. From a protection standpoint D3O® IP GHOST CE LEVEL 1 VENTED AND ADJUSTABLE KNEE ARMOR and D3O® IP GHOST CE LEVEL 1 VENTED HIP ARMOR are included and pre-fitted. The armor is removable, upgradable to level 2, and what’s really cool about the knee armor is that it removes from the outside, making it possible to remove the armor while still wearing the pants. Additional features include two hand pockets, two seat pockets, one coin pocket, and once thigh phone pocket. There is also a reflective hidden stripe on each pant leg that can be seen once the pant legs are rolled up. Overall the Outride pant from Klim is a solid pant at a price point of $219 that can easily be mistaken for a regular work pant. Klim offers a number of sizes and lengths, as well as 3 different colors. From my measurements these pants are vanity sized, so for example, a size 36 measured at 38 inches at the waist, and the inseam was accurate as a size 34 actually measured 34 inches. If you are looking for a pair of pants that offers you riding protection while looking like a normal pair of work pants, the Outrider pants from Klim are worth a look. :: Damir 7/5/24
