Klim's Enduro S4 jackets and pants are new for 2020 and they are the ultimate jacket/pant to wear over mesh/summer riding gear. This gear is made to pair with Klim's Baja S4 summer jackets and pants, but the Enduro S4 gear could be the ultimate rain gear over any riding gear.

I don't think I've every reviewed a "rainsuit" of the same quality as these. The materials here look and feel like some of the finest fabrics used in riding gear, but with less thickness and weight. It will be tough gear, but the primary purpose here is to protect from rain and cold wind rather than crash abrasion resistance (which is offered by your protective riding gear to be worn under). Most rain gear feels like nylon or plastic and really doesn't compare.

"S4" in the name of the Enduro pants is for "four way stretch". Schoeller came up with this 4-way stretch waterproof-breathable material. With the Enduro S4 on you won't feel any binding or loss in range of motion that can be common when a rider wears gear that doesn't have these stretch properties. Other waterproof garments don't stretch like this one.

Pairing the Enduro S4 gear with the Klim Baja S4 gear makes for a year round riding combination. Add layering for cold weather, use the Enduro S3 to block wind and/or rain, and maintain free movement on the bike.

The pants are set up like typical "overpants" with long side zippers down the side of each leg from waist to cuff. These long zippers allow you to "step into" the pants without removing your riding gear. The long side zippers open from either end. While wearing the pants, you can lower the top zipper to reach into your pants pockets which is handy. The sides of the waistband have Velcro tabs to adjust the fit. Tough material overlays the insides of the pant legs to give a durable surface where your boots grip the bike. One unique feature here is two smaller elastic loops built into the waist band. You can roll the pants up from the bottom into a roll and use those elastic straps to hold the pants in the rolled up position to make a camping pillow... neat!

The Enduro S4 pant is made to wear OVER Klim’s Baja S4 pant (or any other summer mesh Klim jacket). The sizing of this Enduro S4 is made larger so it can easily be worn over the pants. For example, the size 38 in this pant measure out with a max waist of about 42” which is about 2” larger than the size 38 Baja pant waist which measures out at about 40”. So if you plan to wear the Enduro S4 OVER a Klim or other riding pant we advise choosing the same size in this pant as your Baja S4 (or other Klim pant.) The waist band on these pants has Velcro tabs you can use to snug down the waist to fit.

For reference, below is the typical sizing chart for Klim pants. If you are choosing this Enduro S4 jacket for use with another (not Klim) pant, you can use this chart to know what size in Klim pants you’d wear, and then order the same size in the Enduro S4. Klim riding pants typically measure out about 2” larger than the stated size which is standard “vanity” sizing for men’s jeans.

If you plan to wear these pants over just street clothes (not over other riding pants), I’d recommend buying one size smaller than you normally would wear in a Klim pants (or jeans). These pants come in both regular inseam and tall sizes. Use the chart below to choose the inseam.
