The Badlands Aero Pro Short riding gloves from Klim are a short glove that is designed to handle the demands of adventure riders who are covering large distances over varied terrain and conditions. Overall construction of the gloves is a combination of premium goat leather (including panels that include Mapped Big-Bore perforation for better airflow and abrasion resistance), leather palm reinforcement overlays, Velcro at the cuff closure as well as 3M™ SCOTCHLITE™ CARBON BLACK REFLECTIVE MATERIAL to aid in night time visibility. The Badlands Aero Pro Short Gloves come in 5 different colors, and do match to other Klim adventure gear.
Looking at protection, these glove are CE Level 1 KP certified, and have protection features such as, outset finger stitching (this aids in both comfort and abrasion resistance), low profile palm seams, carbon fiber + Polycarbonate knuckle guard, 5MM XRD® IMPACT PROTECTION FOAM IN PALM AND KNUCKLE PADS, and TPU + 2MM FOAM WRIST CUFF PROTECTOR. Additional features to note are the inclusion of the plastic clip connect, easy entry with an assist pull loop, ended finger visor wiper, finger air intake scoops, and venting on the TPU finger knuckle pads. These gloves are also touch screen compatible as they feature MULT-E-TOUCH™ SCREEN FUNCTIONALITY W/ PRECISION PADS at both the index finger and thumb and in our testing performed well with both Android and iPhone devices.
The Badlands Aero Pro Short riding glove from Klim are rather interesting as they present themselves as a simple, high air flowing short cuff sport glove, but then they feature some really solid protection features, including one of the biggest palm pads I have ever seen, as well as another protector at the writs (wrist protection like this is really uncommon on short cuff gloves). So overall I really like these gloves as they breathe really well, look great in basically every color that they come in, have some excellent protection features and at $159.99 are really reasonably priced for what you get. My only real complaints with them is that though they are not overly bulky, they make my fingers look a bit large and wide, and my other complaint is the wrist enclosure as I really wasn’t able to make it all that tight (unless I wore the gloves with my jacket tucked in to them). Overall even with those complaints I would say that the he Badlands Aero Pro Short riding glove from Klim are worth checking out and should be considered by anyone looking for a warm weather pair of adventure gloves or even possibly a pair of urban commuting/sport riding gloves. :: Damir 6/19/24
