Our Two Cents

The Arsenal line of backpacks from Klim are adventure based backpacks that come in three different sizes, those include a 5L, 10L and 15L.

Lets start with the 5 liter and take a look at some of the features that they all share. Overall construction is a carbonate coated 420 denier rip stop material, this stuff is great its designed to resist absorbing dust and mud so when you are done with your adventure you can simply just spray it down and rinse all the dirt and mud off, this is also the case with the strap webbing which is great because uncoated materials will absorb dust and mud and then will start to get stuck and become hard to adjust. And to help aid with the clean up the zippers are also weather resistant.

On the front there is molly webbing, really great for attaching and carrying many different things, hidden behind the laser cut holes in the webbing there is some reflective material, I am always a big fan of that.

Flipping the bag over there is an adjustable sternum strap, there are also attachment hoops on the strap, and you can move the strap up or down to find the perfect fit for you, you can also adjust the length and the extra part of the material can tuck away nicely to not be in the way. Also the buckle is super glove friendly as it's just a magnetic hook system that works really well but is super easy to open.

A nice touch is the boomerang shaped straps, they are designed this way for comfort, also there are perforations and mesh in the straps, this ensures that airflow continues as does this mesh webbing on the back. Also on the straps there are routing hoops for the hydration line, the line is ambidextrous so you can wear it on either side, and then utilize the other side for additional accessories like a wired radio for example.

Lets jump inside, all three pack sizes feature a 3 liter quench pack, with the main difference in sizes being how much extra room they have around that pack. In the case of the 5 liter you basically just have the pack, which is attached by a harness system and hook to keep it balanced and from moving around, and there is a pocket up top, a great place to keep your essentials while staying hydrated in a small and minimal backpack.

Jumping over to the 10 L, some of the differences outside of being bigger, right off the bat on the front there are these accessory straps that are adjustable for either holding more gear externally or for sort of cinching or tightening up the pack overall, they are also fully removable.

There is an additional pocket, it is fleece lined so a great place to keep your sunglasses or spare goggle lens to make sure they don't get scratched. Other included pockets are the two internal pockets, both are made out of stretch material so they can accommodate quite a bit of stuff.

Last change to point out on the 10L is the inclusion of a waist strap, designed so you can keep the pack cinched around your body, now Klim knows that some people love waist straps, that's why one is included, but they also know that some people don't, which is why it is easily removable.

Lastly, taking a look at the 15L, even more storage capacity with a huge fleece lined pocket, it’s big enough to store complete goggles not just the lens, and there are two zippered pockets on the inside, again they are a stretch material.

Other main differences to point out are the double headed zippers that make the main compartment opening much larger on the 15L version, and the shoulder straps are also adjustable with the strap itself being able to slide in and out of the backpack allowing you to fine tune your fit and height. And the final item to point out is that the 15L does also have a waist strap but it isn't fully removable like it is on the 10L, but you can tuck the straps away so that they are not in the way if you don't want to use them.

The Arsenal line of backpacks from Klim are quite versatile with each size catering to a different set of needs. Overall the backpacks feature great materials and details and are definitely worth checking out. :: Damir 10/11/25
