The Baja S4 Pants from Klim are new for Spring 2025 and are now in their second generation. Like the rest of the Baja S4 line, the pants are designed for hot weather, adventure riding. Overall construction is a combination of schoeller-dynatech high tenacity nylon mesh, karbonite 4 way stretch 1000D cordura, 750D cordura, and super fabric. This combination of materials earns a CE AA rating.
Sizing is handled numerically, with sizes ranging from 30 to 44 for the regular version, 30 to 40 in the short and 32 to 38 in the tall. For me at six foot, roughly 215 pounds I tried on a pair of regular length pants in a 36 waist, what I normally wear in my everyday jeans and I found a good fit. WIth that said since I am much more torso than I am legs, I found a better fit with the short version of the pants so happy to see Klim offering different lengths.
The main closure is a simple zipper closure with two buttons on top, which stay nice and secure, and the zipper is covered with an oversized flap. There are cargo pockets on each side of the front, they are a good size and they feature a zipper closure, keep in mind however that there are no regular “jean like” pockets in the front, only the cargos. Also on the front Klim included some reflective materials, I love seeing that, especially because their size and shape makes them visible from the front, back and sides. The knees have super fabric on them and on the inside of the legs there is goat leather which is great to help grip the tank, while resisting scratches and wear and tear.
Additional included features are a long connection zipper that matches up to the Baja S4 jacket, adjusters at the hip to get the perfect fit, as well as additional fit adjusters at the calf. At the very bottom of the pants there is a bit more reflective material, as well as zippers and tab adjusters to help with both getting in and out of the pants as well as getting the fit just right.
Included armor is D30 CE Level 1 at both the knees and hips, and the knee armor is height adjustable. Overall the Baja S4 pants are designed with both temperature and movement comfort in mind and with a DWR treatment they will shed water as well but if you’re looking for waterproofness you’ll want to add the Enduro S4 outer layer to this. If you are looking for a great setup for adventure riding in hot weather then look no further, Klim really hit the mark with updating the Baja pants as they show an overall improvement over the original design. :: Damir 7/8/25
