The C10 helmet from HJC is a newer helmet that at its price point is intended to replace the CS-R3 helmet from HJC. Additionally with it being offered in sizes from 3XS to 2XL it effectively also replaces HJC’s CL-Y full-faced youth line of helmets. Speaking of sizes, there are 4 shell sizes, with the break down being Shell size AA covering 3XS and 2XS, shell size A covering XS and Small, shell size B covering Medium and Large and lastly shell size C covering the Extra Large and 2XL helmet sizes. Overall this helmet has a simple and classic design and comes in both motorcycle versions as well as snow versions that include either a dual pane or electric shield. The C10 comes with a 3 year warranty as standard.
A few other items to note, the C10 is ready for a Bluetooth comms system as it does have speaker cut outs and is designed to accommodate a secure Bluetooth clamp position, features an advanced channeling ventilation system that has multiple intake and exhaust vents, and has a 10mm enlarged sight of view. Overall the C10 has a polycarbonate shell construction and is DOT certified. Though it is not the most advanced helmet in HJC’s line up you do get quite a bit for the low to mid $100s price point. Also it’s nice to note that it is available in quite a few colors, from solids, to graphics to wild graphics. The included HJ-34P shield is Pinlock® prepared but the Pinlock® lens itself is sold separately. There is also an optional dark smoke shield that too is sold separately.
Overall the C10 helmet simplifies and refreshes HJC’s entry level helmet lineup and offers a good amount of choice, protection and features at the price point. If you are looking for a youth size helmet, an entry level helmet or trying to stay within this budget, the C10 is a good place to start. :: Damir 8/15/24
