Score 4.0 Gloves by Held are a lighter weight and uninsulated waterproof glove which will work very well in moderate temperatures and wet weather. The gloves feature Gore-Tex lining to make them waterproof and a good deal of safety features too. This glove comes in men’s and women’s sizes. The men’s sizes are offered in standard finger lengths along with short and long finger versions too so you can get a perfect fit.
I like the Score 4 because I think it would be comfortable in warmer and mild weather. I’m a “fair weather rider” myself so these would work for me. They are fitted with the GoreGrip technology by GoreTex which is a bonded type waterproof liner. The “bonded” type waterproof membrane is bonded to the palm leather to prevent slippage of the layers and improve grip. And it also makes for a very thin glove that gives an excellent feel for the controls. A visor wiper is built in on the left index finger to help you clear your shield when it rains.
The protection package here is much like most other Held gloves: a molded knuckle armor piece, a Velcro wrist strap to secure the gloves on the hand, and also a palm “slider” made of Superfabric, which is very tough and promotes sliding if you should contact moving pavement to cut down on injury.
On the back of the hand of this glove, there are some fabric areas and also some perforated leather that will allow air to flow. Granted, a waterproof glove won’t ever vent like a full mesh glove, but certainly, for mild and warmer weather, I think this glove will do great. :: Paul, 11-03-20
