Our Two Cents

The Sport Lite gloves from Cortech are a sport based, minimalistic glove that primarily focuses on comfort and dexterity. Overall construction is a combination of goat skin leather at the top of the hand, pinky, thumb and heel of palm, and AX® Suede on the palm and fingers which is more abrasion resistant than cowhide in the same thickness allowing for better feel and feedback. There is also 4 way stretch with breathable touchettes and stretch neoprene at the cuff that features a hook and loop closure. Lastly the Sport Lite gloves feature a divided knuckle protector that felt comfortable.

Looking at size, fit and comfort, the Sport Lite gloves feel minimal on the hand, offer excellent feel and dexterity but were not overly designed with airflow in mind as the knuckles don’t allow for breathability, and there are only minimal areas with perforation. I do think this gloves will perform well in warmer weather, but there are other options that will allow for more airflow for the really hot rides.

Additional features include touch screen compatibility in the thumb and index fingers, working well in our tests with both Android and iPhone devices, a divided pinky side overlay that offers additional protection, and a wide opening making it easier to get in and out of the gloves.

Overall these gloves have a purpose, and that is low cost, and high feel/dexterity, keep in mind that this comes at the cost of protection. Though abrasion resistance is decent, the impact protection on the inside of the hand is non-existent as there are no hard sliders or pads of any kind at the palms. As long as you understand that purpose, the SPort Lite gloves are worth checking out. :: Damir 6/7/25
