Our Two Cents

The Mirror Breaker gloves from Cortech are a short cuff, primarily leather pair of riding gloves that will do best in milder weather. These gloves remind us quite a bit of the Ikon Timax gloves of years past, especially since they feature metal armor. Primary construction is a perforated cowhide leather that will breathe some, but these may not be the best gloves for airflow during the really hot summer months. Additional materials include a .75mm AX® Laredo Connect Palm that helps with grip and durability, additional cowhide overlays, TPU with Stainless Steel Knuckle Protectors, as well as accordion flex in the knuckles for better mobility and fit. Another feature to note is that the thumb and index fingers are touch screen compatible but in our tests performed just ok with both Android and iPhone devices.

Looking at comfort and size, to me these gloves run a bit tight, so if you are between sizes go up not down. Also the opening is a bit tight and these gloves are desperately screaming for a pull tab to make getting in and out easier. I am sure as the gloves break in this will be less and less of a problem, but just be aware as you use them when they are brand new.

Overall the Mirror Breaker gloves fit the bill if that is the style and type of glove you are looking for, but for me the fit is a bit tight and I am not a huge fan of the lack of additional protection on the palms, perhaps some additional padding or hard sliders could have solved that. :: Damir 6/6/25
