Our Two Cents

The Apex Air glove from Cortech is a short, sport based, warm weather glove. Cortech states that it is for the rider that is looking for the perfect balance of comfort, safety and style, and I can see that as the Apex air are quite comfortable but still offer a good level of protection for a short summer glove. Overall construction is a combination of goat leather and mesh.

Taking a look at protection, the Apex Air feature a carbon fiber hard knuckle, a carbon fiber palm slider, as well as TPR protectors on the fingers. Also included is an AX Suede Connect .75mm overlay at the palm for enhanced durability and better grip. Additionally there are overlays on the pinky fingers for additional abrasion resistance as well as small foam pads to add additional protection.

Moving to comfort and convenience, these gloves are touch screen compatible and work well with both iPhone and Android devices. For temperature regulation, there is plenty of mesh on top of the glove, especially in the wrist, and there is some perforation in the leather on top of the hand. My only complaint about airflow is that the bottom of the hand doesnt have as much in terms of mesh, and there is no perforation in the leather, this means that the Apex Air will still do well in warm, summer weather, but that there are some gloves that will promote even more airflow.

Looking at comfort and fit, I normally wear a size large in most gloves and the size large Apex air fit me as I expected them to, my recommendation here would be to get your usual glove size. The Apex Air gloves felt comfortable immediately and don’t feel like they need a long break in period. My only complaint with comfort and fit is that the glove opening is a tad tight (no issues once the gloves were on, but getting them on was a bit tight initially), and that this would be easily solved if the gloves featured pull tabs, which they don't. Another nice touch for comfort is all the accordion stretch panels found throughout the fingers and the back of the hand, along with the stretch lycra material that further enhances comfort.

Overall this is a solid glove, sure there are gloves that offer more protection or more airflow, but at this price point you get quite a lot of glove for your money. If you are looking for a short, sport, summer time glove and you don’t want to break the bank, the Cortech Apex Air gloves are worth taking a look at. :: Damir 6/2/25
