Our Two Cents

The AA Dyneema® Riding Jeans by Cortech are a step up in their line of offerings as they are a pair of jeans that punch well above their price point. Overall construction is a combination of 12.75oz denim reinforced with Dyneema® which is an extremely strong material that is often utilized in bulletproof gear. This is a single layer jean meaning that the denim and Dyneema® are mixed together, which results in a more comfortable jean vs a jean that has a multilayer protective liner. This is not the most comfortable CE AA rated riding jean that we have tested, that honor belongs to the Klim K Forty 2 and 3 jeans, but at roughly half the price, the Cortech offering is a solid amount of comfortable for the money and does in fact rival in comfort many more expensive European brand riding jeans that are also CE AA rated. So again, a great value for the money.

Taking a look at armor, included is Armanox® armor that is CE Level 1 rated at both the hips and knees, the hip armor is easily removable for less bulk when not in use. Again looking at the price point, having both sets of armor included is again excellent value for the money.

Looking at design and features, these jeans feature a simple 5 pocket design, your typical classic jeans design with two pockets on the back, two pockets on the front and the small “change” pocket on the right side above the regular pocket. The opening/closure is a simple zipper fly with one button (a great thing to see as many brands have been experimenting with all button fly closures lately and we are just not fans of that). And lastly the only available color is a dark blue. The only thing to note that can be perceived as a negative is that there are no reflective materials, on some jeans you get a reflective strip when you roll up the pant leg, not the case here.

Last thing to touch on is sizing, these pants tend to fit a bit more on the European side, for example I normally wear a size 36 waist in an American jean like Klim, but a 38 in a European jean like REV’IT!, here I tried on a 36 size waist and it was extremely tight, I was much more comfortable in a 38, again more in line with European sizing. This is because these jeans are not “vanity” sized, most jeans measure about two inches bigger than their stated size, but not the case here, a 36 size jeans actually measures at 36” at the waist, so just keep that in mind when picking your size (more than likely the regular daily jeans you own are vanity sized so be sure to check).

Overall the AA Dyneema® Riding Jeans by Cortech are an excellent value for the money and are definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a casual, comfortable, yet protective pair of riding jeans. Aside from the extra comfort gained from a jean like the Klim K Forty 2 and 3, it is really difficult to argue against these jeans. :: Damir 5/15/25
