The Turnstone boot is a leather boot with elasticated sides for easy on and off and all day comfort. The style is modeled after the popular Chelsea casual fashion boots that have a similar construction and appearance. The big difference here is the protection, and new retention system unlike anything else on the market.
The boots have reinforcements in the ankles, malleolus, heel, and toe box as you would expect in a riding shoe. The soles are stiff yet flexible and the boots feel very comfortable walking around. The only external cues that anything non-casual is going on is at the rear of the boot where a hook and loop tab calls out "FASTEN >" with a reflective strip on the base.
Once you have your foot in the boot, you pull to release the hook and loop tab marked "FASTEN >" and then pull up, towards the ">" arrow on the tab and it pulls an internal lacing system that tightens the boot around the ankle. Once you have the desired tightness just reattach the hook and loop tab to the back of the boots. When you're ready to take the boots off, just loosen that rear hook and loop tab and pull on the corresponding tab at the tongue that says "UNLOCK >" and the laces will release and loosen the boot, pulling the rear tab back down to the base of the hook and loop fabric. Quick, simple, stealthy, and extremely innovative I am very impressed by this new retention system.

These shoes are sold in US men’s sizes. We find Alpinestars sport shoes like this one run run more snug and a bit shorter than the boots in their line. I think these run more like Nike sneakers, which generally run about one half to one size smaller than a standard street shoes.
My advice would be to buy one size larger than your standard street shoe size, or the same size as you wear in Nike. If you are between sizes, choose the larger.
