The Alpinestars Mustang v2 gloves are a sharp, short cuff leather glove for sport or street riding. They have several features to help with comfort and convenience.
In reviewing 2018 gloves from Alpinestars this season, I’m seeing a few new features that help with fit and convenience. Right at the base of the thumb on this glove is a stretch fabric panel. Its not a big thing, but its an area of gloves that can become uncomfortable if the leather bunches up and/or doesn’t stretch enough and this panel seems to help.
Also this glove has some nice touch sensitive panels at the tips of the forefinger and thumb so you can swipe AND pinch on your phone with one hand. Another enhancement is the design of the knuckle armor. The knuckle armor piece is molded plastic and is under a layer of the perforated leather which looks sharp and all that is layered over another layer of memory foam which extends part way down the back of the hand and forward to the base of the fingers. The memory foam adds a layer of energy absorption and also makes sure that knuckle armor is comfortable to wear. I like how it feels.
The black/white version of this glove is my personal favorite. I like how the white strip shows off that stretch leather panel down the side of the hand which, by the way makes the fitting of this glove easier. :: Paul, 05-16-18
