The Spidi Carbo 4 Coupe gloves are a more robust sport riding glove. These gloves offer full leather construction and a number of armor features.
This glove feels like a short version of a race glove, and indeed it is! This glove shares features of Spidi’s Carbo line of sport/race gloves with full gauntlet designs, but in a shorter version which many street riders will find to be more practical. The shell of this glove is leather with reinforcements in the palm of man-made suede which will add some wear life. The back of the hand is heavily armored with molded protectors with carbon fiber reinforcement. There is the large molded knuckle armor piece and then two smaller matching finger protectors on the first two fingers. The large knuckle protector is “floating” meaning it is unattached to the glove on the wrist side, so when you make a fist, it can more easily flex and be comfortable rather than pressing in on your knuckles.
The palm side of the glove has an articulating rubber piece in the heel of the hand. Most sport/race gloves I’ve seen over the years go for materials in the heel of the hand that promotes sliding in addition to impact protection, but not here. I think I’m more in the “slider” camp myself, but I’m sure they have their reasons.
Be sure and read the sizing advice… these gloves fit smaller than most, so I advise you to buy one size larger. :: Paul, 06-11-19
