Our Two Cents
The REV’IT! Nitric 3 H2O Rain Jacket is the latest iteration of their Nitric series of rain jackets.
The Nitric 3 has been updated to include more reflectives on the shoulders to increase visibility at night or in a downpour. A big change in this version is that there is no longer a hood, so if that was a determining factor for you the REV’IT! rain gear line no longer has a hooded option. Like it’s predecessor this Nitric 3 has two large storage pockets on the front and a napoleon pocket behind the storm flap but outside the main zipper of the jacket. The storm flap on this jacket is buttoned in place, unlike the Cyclone 3 that uses a hook and loop closure system. This jacket is adjustable at the wrists, biceps, waist, and belly so you can really get a good, customized fit that doesn’t catch too much wind. This jacket will pack down into the included travel bag with ease and once packed it is a cylinder that measures 8.5 inches long and 17 inches in circumference.
The differences in the Nitric and Cyclone lines are a little closer this year with the removal of the hood from the Nitric 3. But the Nitric 3 still has the mesh lining, belly adjustment, pockets (two large front and one napoleon), and button down storm flap that make it stand out above the lower cost Cyclone 3. :: Mike, 12-16-21
