The Mile jackets are a new retro styled option from REV’IT! that comes in two color options, blacked out or black with red and light grey stripes.
The Mile jacket has two types of leather on the main jacket body. The shoulders and arms use a light grain leather while the torso uses a softer leather without a visible grain which gives the jacket a more classic look. The upper arms and the lower stripe on the Black colorway have what appear to be perforated panels, but they are just for looks and do not flow air. To make up for this, REV’IT! has included a dual main zipper, the outer zipper has a large glove-friendly pull and closes the leather sealing the jacket but if you unzip that there is a large 1.5in 3D mesh panel which closes with a secondary zipper and that will let some serious air into the jacket when exposed.
The Mile has a pretty standard fit with a 2 inch drop from chest to belly. The waist has snap adjustment straps on each side that secure inside the jacket for a more refined outer shell appearance. The upper chest and arms have stretch material so you have some flexibility and freedom of movement.
The jacket comes with flexible SEESMART™ level 1 armor in the elbows and shoulders and you have the option to add a back protector if you choose, you can see those options below. The collar of this jacket has a soft neoprene interior that feels nice on the neck. At the cuff, there is about a 5 inch zipper that opens it up so you can easily get the jacket on or off and tuck a gauntlet inside the sleeve if you are wearing that style glove. The Mile jacket comes with a full sleeve thermal liner that has pass throughs to two internal storage pockets in the jacket shell. The liner zips into the jacket and has color coded snaps at the sleeve to keep the arms straight. Aside from the two internal pockets, the Mile jacket has two external handwarmer pockets with zip closures. These pockets are angled and have a leather overlay over the main zipper portion so they look very clean and well thought out while also being ergonomic and comfortable as functional hand warmers. There is also a large reflective strip on the back of the jacket down the spine that should keep you visible from behind in low light conditions.
The REV’IT! Mile jacket pulls off the classic ‘70s style with modern upgrades. It should work well for anyone looking for style on their urban cruiser or commuter. With the thermal liner and large hidden main zip vent, it will work for warm to cool weather. It certainly has the look of a leather jacket you can hand down for generations of riding, and with the level of quality we have come to expect from REV’IT! hopefully, that is the case. :: Mike, 02-24-2022
