The Klim Marrakesh Jacket is now in it’s second generation and is made to handle a wide temperature range making it a super versatile jacket. This could honestly be your only motorcycle jacket if you were to chose to only have one. You could easily layer it with thermal and/or windproof layers underneath and rain gear on top to really extend the riding season for this jacket. With how comfortable and stretchy the Marrakesh Jacket is layering to your comfort and needs should not be an issue. From a storage standpoint this jacket featurs 2 hand pockets, 1 chest pocket and 1 forearm pocket that can he a hidden stash pocket or a place to keep an emergency id stat card.
Overall construction for the Jacket is 1000D Karbonite™ Micromesh Cordura® fabric, with stretch woven fully porous materials for airflow and DWR treatment to shed water. The jacket also features YKK zippers with hypalon zipper garages, 500D Cordura® pocket and rear hem trim and a 3M™ Scotchlite™ Carbon Black Reflective.
The Klim Marrakesh achieves a CE AA rating which is really impressive considering how comfortable and mobile you feel in this jacket. Personally the first time I tried it on I felt like I was wearing a casual off of the bike jacket and was surprised to find a AA rating because of just how comfortable this jacket felt (additional note, I typically wear a size XL but found the perfect fit in a size L, see the sizing information above for more details). Speaking of comfort the Marrakesh features a moisture-wicking antimicrobial mesh liner, a 4 way stretch main chassis, a lower profile collar that is hot weather friendly, and a perfect balance of materials that allows the Marrakesh to breathe extremely well allowing it to perform really well in a wide range of warmer environments. Breathability is further aided by 2 wrist zip vents.
The CE Level AA abrasion rating is complimented by D3O® IP Ghost Level 1 vented shoulder and adjustable elbow armor and included is a D3O® Viper CE Level 1 back pad, this is a nice touch as many jackets do not include the back protector.
The interesting thing about the Klim Marrakesh series is that it falls in to the touring/adventure category, especially when you look at the gloves and pants, but the Marrakesh Jacket, depending on the colorway, really can look at home on any type of bike. If you pair it with a pair of riding jeans it can easily fit the style of sport or urban riding.
Overall the Klim Marrakesh Jacket is really impressive in the way it combines protection, breathability, movement and overall style and comfort, it is considered one of the favorites amongst MotorcycleGear.com staff. So much so in fact, that we have two of our own exclusive colors, the Monument Grey with Red Rock accents and the Monument Grey with Dress Blue accents. Also new for this year is the Winter Moss color way. The Marrakesh Jacket comes highly recommended so if you are thinking about it, give it a try. :: Damir 3-16-24
