The Noru Boken Adventure Waterproof pant is designed for the
adventure/touring rider that is looking for a waterproof pant that wonβt
break the bank.
The Boken has an integrated waterproof liner that sits between the
external shell and the internal comfort liner (and removable thermal
liner but more on that in a second). This means that the vents on the
thighs bring air across the waterproof liner, but not directly to the
body. The pants do come with a full length thermal liner as well. This
liner zips in around the waist and has a snap on either side near the
calf.
The pants have two loops at the rear to mate with the matching Noru
Boken Adventure Waterproof Jacket and a short connection zipper for
pairing with some other jacket options in the Noru line. The short
connection zipper also mates to the optional Noru Adventure Bib &
Brace (see related products below). This Bib & Brace zips on and
then attaches through hoops at the front of the pants for secure
suspenders. Below these connections is a large accordion stretch panel
for comfort. More accordion paneling can be found above the knees. There
are two hook and loop adjusters at the waist that allows you to cinch
it down by about 2.5β per side. At the cuff, there is another hook and
loop adjuster with a zippered gaiter behind the storm flap. Opening this
up will allow the pants to fit over larger boots.
The pants have CE approved armor in the knees and there are pockets
for optional hip armor if you wanted to upgrade (see related products
below). There are reflect strips at the knees and on the storm flap near
the cuff for nighttime visibility. Two zippered hand pockets give you
some secure storage capability as well.
The Noru Boken Adventure Waterproof pants are a good option for warm
to cold weather riding. If youβre looking for hot weather gear check
out the Noru Ganjo line which has almost the same features in a mesh
shell without the waterproofing. Good entry level adventure/touring gear
is hard to find, and at this price point, Noru is tough to beat in
terms of features. :: Mike, 08/11/2022
