Sizing Information
Alpinestars publishes a really complicated sizing chart, so I’ve distilled that down for you into the table below. We checked a selection of pants with a tape and the chart is reasonably accurate. Choose a size based on the chart below. I encourage you to use a tape around your waist just below the navel to determine waist size because using jean sizes might lead to false results if your jeans are “vanity sized”.
Since these pants come with suspenders, I’d advise you to choose larger if you are between sizes since the use of suspenders allows for a looser waist, which would be more comfortable. (I’m a big fan of suspender pants BTW!).
Pant Size | Waist Range | Regular Inseam | Short Inseam | Tall Inseam |
Small | 30-32 | 30.5 | - | - |
Medium | 32-34 | 31.5 | 29.5 | 33.5 |
Large | 34.5-36 | 32.5 | 30.5 | 34.5 |
XL | 36-39 | 34 | 32 | 36 |
XXL | 39-41 | 34.5 | 32.5 | 36.5 |
XXXL | 41-44 | 35.5 | 33.5 | 37.5 |
XXXXL | 44-46 | 36 | 34 | 38 |
Our Two Cents
The Bogota Pro Drystar Honda pants from Alpinestars are the Honda branded version of the regular Bogota Pro Drystar pants, here is what we had to say about the regular version:
The Bogota Pro Drystar® Pants from Alpinestars are an all season, adventure pair of pants meant to match up with their Bogota Pro Drystar® Jackets. Overall construction of the pants is a combination of Ripstop and 450D coated hard shell constructed from 100% GRS certified recycled Nylon 6 materials for light weight and enhanced durability. It also features 600D reinforcements for additional durability in key areas, as well as a Technical laminated Drystar® liner provides superior breathability and exceptional wet weather performance (This liner can be worn on either the inside or outside of the pants). This combination of materials as well as the included impact protection resulted in a CE Level AA rating. Speaking of impact protection, included are Level 2 CE Nucleon Flex Pro knee armor and Bio-Flex hip armor.
Moving on to comfort and convenience, like the jacket, Bogota Pro Drystar® Pants feature both a Drystar® liner to keep you dry and also a detachable 100-gram thermal liner to keep you warm. Additionally the pants are DWR treated for even better wet weather performance. Multiple ventilation panels at the tighs help keep you cool when opened, and they are deigned for one hand operation. Lastly, two hand pockets are present for safe and secure storage, reflective details can be found on the lower leg for better low light visibility, as well as comprehensive stretch inserts are included to help with movement and fit. To further aid in fit and comfort, included are both calf volume adjusters as well as a waist adjuster.
At the time of this review the Bogota Pro Drystar® Pants retail for $299.95 and with all of the included armor, liners and materials used they seem more than worth the price. Overall I am a big fan of how they fit, how comfortable they are and how well they protect while still retaining said comfort. If you are looking for a new adventure outfit the Bogota Pro Drystar® Jacket and Pants combo is worth checking out. Also a nice bonus is the included suspenders. :: Damir 7/26/24
