Sizing Information
Icon offers sizing advice on their website, but it is a little confusing since the vests are offered in combined sizes Small/Medium, Large/XL and XXL/XXXL, but their chart is laid out as if they have sizes for every men’s size. So I’ve put together the chart below to show the full range of chest sizes for each vest size.
I’d advise you to choose the vest size using the chart based upon your chest measurement . Be sure to measure your chest OVER the clothes/jacket you plan to wear under the vest.
Unfortunately, this vest doesn’t have any waist size adjusters, so those who fall near the lower end of the range for each vest size may find the size too big. For example, I’m a size Large in most men’s clothing and have a 43” chest. The Large/XL is really big on me since the chest is sized for a size 46 chest. If your measured chest size is near the upper end of the range, then you’ll likely find a fit, but if you are at the lower end of the range it probably won’t fit well.
Icon Size | Min Chest | Max Chest |
Small/Medium | 38 | 40 |
Large/XL | 40 | 46 |
XXL/XXXL | 46 | 52 |
Our Two Cents
The Icon Backlot Vest is new for 2021 as is a simply styled black vest made of synthetic leather. A D3O back protector is included with the vest.
I’ve seen several new Icon products that feature their synthetic leather. It feels nice and should be sturdy. Those who like a very simple style will like this one. There are four pockets in front and the zippers for each are concealed to keep with the sleek style.
As I mentioned in the sizing advice, the vest doesn’t have any sort of torso fit adjustment. The overall cut is very relaxed so the belly area size is much the same as the chest. If your chest and belly size falls near the upper range of the vest’s estimated size, you’ll probably get a good fit. If you are at the lower end of the range of a vest size, it will be big on you, so it may not work. Be sure to measure yourself over the all the clothing you plan to wear under the vest. :: Paul, 04-28-21

Its relaxed fit allows you to wear it over most jackets, or you can rock it with a hoodie, whatever your flavor. Zipped side pockets provide secured storage for your belongings.
