We find that gloves from REV’IT! are generally very consistent in fit from one model to the next, and we find they run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands. The fit is very similar to Alpinestars which also fit more snugly than other brands of gloves. The tendency to run small is not so noticeable that we’d advise you to buy one size larger, but if you are sometimes in between sizes, your best shot would be to choose larger. Hopefully, you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based on the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
REV'IT! Slate H2O Glove
The Slate H2O is another great waterproof glove from REV'IT!
The REV'IT! Slate H2O features a Z-liner insert for waterproofing which keeps the water out while still allowing the hand to breathe. The back of the hand also has a thin 3M™ Thinsulate™ that keeps you warm on those cool morning rides.
The knuckle, palm, and thumb all feature comfortable Temperfoam® protectors. The knuckle also has an injected flexible protector while the palm includes a TPU slider over the Temperfoam®. The index fingers and thumbs have connective material that works on iPhone and Android devices here at the shop. The left glove has a suede leather strip along the index finger and a portion of the thumb that works as a visor wiper that you might not ever realize is there unless you notice the slight difference from the right glove.
The backhands of the glove are an interesting knit like material that has several reflective threads interwoven. When hit with light they really light up well, take a look at our additional photos. The only call out I have with the gloves is the hook and loop closure strap. It works great for achieving a secure fit at the wrist, but the strap lays too flat and is difficult to get ahold of while wearing the gloves. It's a minor issue, but worth noting as something to improve on in version 2.0 in a few years.
The REV'IT! Slate H2O gloves are a great short cuff option for the rider who is looking for a lightweight waterproof glove with a little bit of insulation. The inclusion of 3M™ Thinsulate™ G 100g means I can't recommend this glove for hot weather, but you should be ok in warm to cool temperatures.
