  • Touchscreen Compatible We have found these gloves work with both Samsung and Apple phones however because of the box stitching on the fingers it is very difficult to use. You will have to press down hard in order to get it to work on an Apple. Samsung phones had fewer issues and were much easier to use. My advice would be if you own an Apple phone and are looking for a glove that is touchscreen compatible choose a different glove.

Sizing Information

These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, Joe Rocket, etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. Our Two Cents

Icon has come out with a number of new gloves for 2019 in the same general price range of $65, this new Hypersport glove being one of them. It’s a lot of glove for an inexpensive price. It fits well and looks sharp.

Like the Conflict and Pursuit gloves, this one uses “AxSuede” which is their marketing name for really nice synthetic leather. Part of the glove is goat leather, which I “think” is the quilted leather in the palm, but to be honest, I really can’t tell. The synthetic leather materials are really getting good!

Anyway, this glove has a substantial knuckle protector and some nice impact protectors in the palm. The knuckle armor unit is the “floating” kind which means it isn’t connected on the wrist side and floats over your knuckle when you make a fist. Floating construction is the most comfortable way to attach firm knuckle armor like this. The closure at the wrist is the non-snaggy kind of Velcro which is a nice too.

The palm material and the stitching around the fingers will likely be this gloves weak point. Hopefully they’ll last a good while so you’ll think they are a good value, but I’m guessing those stitches will be the area that shows wear first.

Of all the new $65 gloves from Icon this season, I think I like these the best so far just because of the nice fit and the substantial armor setup. :: Paul, 03-27-19

Icon says: ICON is always searching for the upper hand; we’ve found it with the Hypersport Short glove. The materials and construction of the Hypersport Short glove have been purposely chosen for their innate abilities to provide this advantage. The AxSuede Laredo chassis is paired with goatskin palm overlays and diamond stitch accents located in areas of high wear from grips. The palm sliders are in case of high-velocity asphalt encounters. Key construction techniques include ICON’s exclusive floating knuckle, which allows for maximum knuckle articulation, and an out-seamed finger box for all-day comfort. The Hypersport Short gloves feature full knuckle coverage from the vented TPU/Polycarbonate knuckle plates. A wrist hook & loop closure allows for a secure fit.
