The Climate 3 Jacket from REV’IT! Is an insulated mid layer jacket that is designed to keep you warm while riding in the cold weather seasons. REV’IT! States that the Climate 3 has a spec list that will put most mid layer jackets to shame and I have to agree with this. Yes, it is one of the more expensive ones in their line up, but it is primarily built out with polyester with elastane to help the jacket stretch but the key here is that it features Polartec® Alpha® thermal insulation, this material is loved by U.S. Special Forces for its ability to breathe while keeping you warm with sustained comfort without shedding layers. This innovative insulating material is made specifically to provide temperature regulation in active situations. I found it impressive how it felt, and that it was supper minimal and thin compared to the padded and puffy jackets that REV’IT!’s other mid layer offerings had, while still being as warm if not warmer. Additionally, speaking of REV’IT!’s other mid layer jackets, most of them featured regular polyester, the Climate 3 features Elasticated Polyester so it stretches much better and fits more comfortably.
Some other great features include, quick-dry properties, hydrophobic properties, durable ventilation under the armpits, as well as two side pockets and a chest pocket. Like other REV’IT! Mid layer jackets the Climate 3 can easily pack down in to its included transport bag and a size XL packs down to just six inches wide by nine inches tall. Also like the other jackets it works well under motorcycle gear as it does not include abrasion resistance or impact protection, but it also looks good being worn as a stand alone jacket off of the bike or as a destination jacket once you have completed your ride. The Climate 3 jacket also comes with reflective logos on both the back and chest to help add a little style but obviously also to aid in night time visibility.
Overall I am quite impressed with the Climate 3 jacket as a mid layer for regulating temperature and staying warm. Yes it is a bit pricier than the others, but you do get what you pay for. To me the smaller footprint, more comfortable and stretchy fit, and just overall better look off of the bike make it worth the extra cost. :: Damir 5/2/24
