Our Two Cents

The Storm Chaser 2.0 gloves from Tourmaster are a waterproof, mid wrist or mid length glove meant for multi weather riding. Overall construction is a combination of a wind and water resistant stretch softshell material on top of the hand, abrasion resistant AX® Connect synthetic comfort overlays in the palm, genuine goatskin leather at the palm and thumb crotch overlays, as well as soft neoprene at the mid length cuff (which features a hook and loop closure). On the inside you do get an Aqua-barrier® membrane that is both waterproof and breathable as well as PrimaLoft® Gold insulation.

Moving on to comfort and convenience, there is a tricot liner, touchscreen compatibility that works well with both Android and iPhone devices in both the thumb and index finger, as well as super-stretch lycra fourchettes for added comfort.

Moving on to protection, sonic welded TPR finger protectors are included as well as protectors on the finger knuckles. The gloves also feature a reflective strip on top of the hand. Overall there is padding in multiple areas and overall protection, but keep in mind that this glove features no hard parts, even the knuckle protectors are a soft style, this might be a problem for some. Additionally there are no additional sliders or padding in the palm, only additional layers for abrasion resistance. Also keep in mind, these gloves are not CE certified, but I am fairly confident that that is because Tourmaster didn’t submit them for certification, keep in mind that CE is a European requirement and Tourmaster is mostly sold in the states, rather than because the glove couldn’t pass the test. Based off materials and quality or build/features I would assume that it would pass as a 1KP glove.

The Storm Chaser 2.0 Gloves come in three colors, black, camo, and Grey, and in sizes from small to 3XL. Speaking of sizes, I normally wear a size large in most gloves, and the same is the case here with a large fitting me as I would expect, so my advice would be to get your usual size. Overall these gloves are extremely comfortable, especially with no hard parts included. Also value for the money is there as they retail for $39.99 (at the time of this review). Personally I think when you consider the price point, the amount of protection is fair and adequate, but for me personally, I would like to see some additional palm protection. For that, maybe check out the Super ADV gloves from Tourmaster for an additional $20.

Unfortunately with all that said, we don’t recommend these gloves as the knuckle protector was not in the right place for everyone on our staff who tried them on with the protection typically being well in front of the knuckle. If you can try them on in person and the knuckle protector lines up, then its a solid glove for the money but again, for most the protector just wasn’t in the right place. :: Damir 12.13.24
