Below is the size chart developed by Tour Master for this product . We’ve checked these pants against the chart and we find it is accurate, so our recommendation is to use the chart and choose based on the size of your jeans/pants. The waist of the pants have Velcro adjustment tabs which you can snug down to get a good fit. The waist range is an estimate of the range of adjustment.

Note: The pant leg ends on these pants are quite generous as we expect for adventure/off-road gear. On a size XL pant, when I lay the pant leg end flat, I measure about 9” across, which means they are about 18” around. They can be adjusted via zippers on the front and back of the leg though so you can open them up by about 2” to make them up to 22” around and still get a snug fit thanks to the hook and loop closure on the rear of the leg.

Our Two Cents

The Highlander Waterproof jackets and pants are the latest additions to the Horizon line of adventure/dual sport gear from Tour Master.

The Tour Master Highlander pants are waterproof thanks to a fully laminated shell with taped seams and DWR coating. The pants also have a removable full length thermal liner. If you’re looking for a winter pant this one will fit the bill, but these pants also have venting in the knee, thigh, and back of the leg, so you can wear them comfortably into pretty warm temperatures as well. The thigh vents have a snap to hold them open for maximum air intake. I would call these pants a 3 season pant, they’ll work for cold to warm weather but in extreme heat, you will probably want a little more venting.

The pants have two waterproof hand pockets, two waterproof cargo pockets, and one waterproof zippered pocket on the outside of the left cargo pocket. They have quite a bit of flexibility as well. There are hook and loop waist and cuff adjusters as well as two zippered gussets at the cuff for expanding over large adventure boots. The bullet points from Tour Master listed a 4-way stretch material in the main body of the pants but that is not the case, the pants are still generously sized in the thighs and fit very comfortably though.

The Highlander pants have a full length connection zipper with mating half and a short connection zipper (without mating half) for pairing with your favorite jacket. They also come with CE level 2 armor at the knees and hips.

The new Tour Master Highlander pants will perform well for the adventure or dual sport rider that is looking for multi-season functionality and flexibility in a comfortable waterproof shell. :: Mike, 07/27/2022
