The Matador jacket is a new sport jacket style from REV’IT! for Spring 2022.
The Matador comes in three great colorways, the Anthracite looks great in person. The back and chest have a laser perforation pattern that starts with small perforations at the bottom and gets progressively larger as you move up the jacket. The upper arms also have a more traditional perforated leather portion. Inside the jacket there is a removable thermal vest liner that zips into the outer shell. There is one internal pocket on this vest liner, and the jacket shell itself has two pockets on the belly area and one napoleon pocket. On the outer shell there are two zippered hand warmer pockets.
The fit of this jacket is a little more snug than normal for larger sizes but seems about right for size 50 and below. The drop from chest to belly is about 3 inches which is in between the normal casual drop of 2 inches and the normal sport drop of 4 inches. The fit is fairly simple despite all that because the jacket has numerous stretch panels. There are accordion panels on the chest, back, and upper arms and stretch material down the sides of the torso and sleeves. The waist has hook and loop adjusters so you can snug it down for a custom fit. The cuffs have zippered opening with gaitered openings that make it easy to get the jacket on and off or tuck a gauntlet glove into the sleeve.
The jacket has SEEFLEX™ level 2 armor at the shoulders and elbows and is prepared for SEESOFT™ chest and back protectors, you can find those items linked below. There is also TPU protection at the shoulder. The chest and lower back have reflective strips as well so you are visible in low light conditions.
The Matador jacket is a good sport leather option for the rider looking for some airflow with a thermal liner option. The moderate drop and stretch panels make fit fairly easy, and the styling is very clean. :: Mike, 02-24-2022
