The REV’IT! Expedition GTX boots are an update on their previous model that used their in house proprietary H2O Hydraliner. Now you have the performance of Gore-Tex built into a great dual sport/adventure riding boot.
The Expedition GTX boot is the big brother of REV’IT!’s adventure boot line. The middle child would be the Discovery GTX boots which have a taller upper than the Pioneer and but are a little shorter than the Expedition and offer slightly less shin protection than seen here. All three boots use the BOA lace system, which is a fantastic update on the millennia old lace-up technology we are all used to. With BOA you simply turn a knob to tighten or pull the knob to release.
The REV’IT! Expedition GTX has extreme performance in mind with its Dynamic Support Frame that performs more like a Motocross boot. This technology gives you the ultimate in flexibility and stability, keeping you protected from an ankle injury in extreme conditions. REV’IT! has covered the entire upper of the boots with Superfabric® for even more abrasion resistance than you’re likely to ever need in that area.
The REV’IT! Expedition GTX boots have the normal protection features you expect in a motorcycle boot. There are ankle protection, a heel cup, and a reinforced toe box. There is even SeeSoft™ protection on the tongue so if you take a stinger on the shin that nails the BOA knob through the thick shin guard you’ve got some padding to absorb the hit on the backside of the impact as well. There is also reflective material at the heel of the boots for nighttime visibility.
Key to performance on and off the bike, the REV’IT! Expedition GTX boot has a Vibram® Apex sole. This sole is stiff in the instep where you need it on the bike. But it also has enough flex that you can comfortably walk around in the boots off the bike and the various tread patterns should help you maintain traction on just about any surface within reason. The boots also look like a normal hiking style boot.

This boot is sold in European sizes. And we find this boot to run smaller than other brands/styles of the equivalent EU size. REVIT’s size conversion chart shown below reflects how the boots run smaller than usual. Using the new chart, you’ll be buying a boot that is 1/2 to one size bigger than you might choose in other EU sized boots.
