The REV’IT! Control H2O Jacket for women comes with a lot of features. This particular jacket has a Hydratex|Mesh G-liner for dependable waterproofing and breathability. You are able to detach the thermal liner | Hydratex|Mesh G-liner. In my opinion, you can wear this jacket all year around. You have the liner to keep you dry and warm in the winter, you can remove it for airflow in the summer. There is mesh material on the front and the back. The jacket is equipped with Seesoft CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow armor. There’s also TPU protection at the shoulders. The back protector will be sold separately. There will be a link below to take you to the back protectors.
The jacket give you adjustability throughout. You have waist adjusters which is a plus in my opinion. You also have adjustment tabs on the upper arm and the V-flap cuff. There is two slit pockets on the front of the jacket. There will also be a pocket in the inside of the jacket. The jacket has a short connection zipper so you are able to connect it to the pants. The REV’IT! logo is reflective on the back of the jacket.
The Women’s version is extremely similar to the men’s with the exception of missing the exterior shoulder armor, here is our two cents for the men’s version:
The Control H2O jacket from REV’IT! is another version of the Control series of jackets, there are three in total. The “Control” which is a leather sport/racing jacket, the “Control Air H2O” which is a mesh jacket that features a waterproof liner and finally this jacket, the “Control H2O”. The names can get a bit confusing but the main difference here is that while the both the Control Air H2O and the Control H2O (this jacket) are waterproof, this jacket is waterproof on it’s own it doesn’t rely on the liner, also it is not mesh but rather a textile jacket. Because of the way it is designed with the built in waterproof layer and with the included, removable thermal liner I would say that this jacket is comfortably a three season jacket depending on where you live. Overall construction is high density polyester 600D with polyester ripstop as well as the waterproof hydratex mesh g liner coating. Overall the Control H2O has a regular fit, a size XL (my usual size) fit me as I expected it to and overall this construction earned a CE Level AA abrasion resistance rating.
Looking at protection, this jacket comes with included SEESMART CE-level 1 Elbow and Shoulder Protectors and has a pocked for a SEESOFT CE-level 2 Insert Back Protector that can be purchased separately. On the shoulders you will find TPU protectors on the outside of the jacket as well as a laminated reflective REV’IT! logo on the back. This jacket is also prepared for the Avertum Tech-Air® airbag system.
From a comfort and convenience standpoint, there is a wind & water catcher behind the main zipper, and air outlet on the upper back, zippers on the lower arms, and a v-flap at the cuff. Also the Control h2o jacket features a short connection zipper, jeans loop hooks as well as a soft edge at the collar for extra comfort. To further aid in comfort and fit there are adjustment tabs at the upper arm as well as an adjustment strap at the waist and like most REV’IT! jackets, there is a comfortable inner mesh liner. Looking at pockets you do get one inner pocket on the liner as well as two slit pockets on the front. Overall the Control H2O jacket was very comfortable to wear and did not feel overly heavy.
Personally I think REV”IT! got it right with the Control H2O jacket and I think that out of the three control series jackets that this is the best looking one, it to me has the best blend of sport looks, comfort and functionality (might not work for everyone from a temperature perspective though, for example here in Texas the air version is the one to go with). At the price of $329 you get a good amount for your money from a materials, build quality and safety stand point and I do recommend this jacket for anyone looking for a sporty but waterproof textile jacket. :: Damir 6/28/24
