Expanding upon the Argon 2 family (including the one-piece and combi suits) we bring you the Argon 2. An entry-level, race-derived, full-leather jacket for street riders with speed in their DNA.

Good genes The Argon 2 jacket carries the same race aesthetic as part of the Argon 2 product family. We made a couple of changes to diversify it though. The prints are similar to the one-piece but reversed, additionally the jacket has the same prints as the combi suit. More ergonomic perforation has been added to keep you cool plus the suit is build for high-speed riding, enabling the wearer to take corners at high speeds. How is that achieved? Well, the suit is aggressively pre-shaped and uses the same materials as the Argon 2 racing suit.

Built-in safety With a AAA CE classification, you know you’re in good hands with the Argon 2 jacket. Furthermore, TPU hard protectors at the shoulders, along with interior armor at the elbows and shoulders come standard – the divided chest protectors and the back protector can also be added at your request.

We brought in samples of these jackets and measured them and also tried them on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We put a 52 on Huey and a 56 on Dewey (typically they’d wear a 42/Med and 46/XL US size), and the sizes we chose give a snug/sport fit. Both look and fit great (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

To help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements, I’ve included the size chart below. It is based upon REVIT’s standard size chart and we think it is just about right. Also we’ve included a waist/belly measurement. If you have a larger belly, you’ll want to make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough to accommodate you. If your belly is smaller than the max size indicated in the chart for the chest size you choose, just use the adjustment straps to customize the fit with no problem. A jacket like this looks great with the waist adjusters in a bit.

Note: If you plan to add a back protector add 1” to both your chest and belly measurements before using the chart. If you plan to add chest armor, add an additional 1” to your chest.

Our Two Cents

The Argon 2 Jacket from REV’IT! Is an entry-level, race derived, full leather jacket. This jacket is aggressively pre-shaped and uses the same materials as the Argon 2 racing suit, so you know it means business. That’s right, this is a serious jacket, and it shows it by achieving a AAA CE rating. The Argon 2 has some excellent protection features, starting off it comes with SEEFLEX CE-level 2 Elbow Protectors and SEEFLEX CE-level 2 Shoulder Protectors, and has slots available for REV’IT!’s SEESOFT CE-level 1 Divided Insert Chest Protector and SEESOFT CE-level 2 Insert Back Protector that you can purchase separately. Additionally this jacket features TPU protection at the shoulder, laminated reflection panels on the back to ensure you are visible and safety seams to ensure the entire jacket stays together. Overall material that aids in the abrasion resistance is a combination of a synthetic versos of leather with a similar look as well as buffalo leather that is typically more rugged in appearance than cowhide, outside of the show leathers there is also use of polyester stretch.

From a comfort standpoint the Argon 2 features ventilation that is provided by perforation on the upper back and front for when things get too warm as well as a detachable thermal body warmer for when things get too cold. Additionally there is a wind catcher behind the cuff zipper and another one behind the main font zipper to help block the wind. The Argon 2 also features a mesh lining. Comfort cuffs, cuff zippers to allow for easier entry or for additional ventilation, a soft edge at the collar and a combination of pockets such as the three inner pockets including one Napoleon pocket. Additional comfort comes with the jackets ability to stretch, you can find stretch materials at the arm holes, at the shoulders, at the inside of the arms and at the waste. To get you all connected and ready to go with your favorite REV’IT! Past there are also jeans loops and both a short and long connection zipper included. Keep in mind from a fit standpoint that this is meant to be a race style jacket there fore it will feature a tight fit, it is designed to be snug and to conform to the riders body shape, this will allow the jacket and its materials to not restrict the motion in any situation that the rider might be in.

Overall the Argon 2 jacket from REV’IT! Is a killer deal as it gives you a high quality leather jacket with level 2 armer and CE AAA abrasion resistance for the price of what most jackets with only level 1 armor and AA abrasion resistance cost. If you are looking for maximum protection for your money, it really is hard to go wrong with the Argon 2 jacket. Sure it doesn’t have as high of quality materials as REV’IT!’s Control jacket, another AAA rated offering, but for the price difference between the two I still stand by the Argon being an excellent jacket and and excellent value. :: Damir 3/18/24
