We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We generally buy test jackets in a Medium for Huey and an XL for Dewey (41” and 45” chest respectively) assuming these jackets would fit “normally”, and were able to get them on the two mannequins, but it was a very tight fit (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

We measured both the max chest and belly of every size in this jacket and we find them to run consistent with many past styles of REVIT jackets… which is to say consistently smaller than what you find with most alpha sized men’s jackets. I’ve put together a chart for you to choose a jacket based upon your chest size (see below). And for most people, that means you’ll have to buy one size larger jacket than you normally wear in men’s clothing. I’d highly recommend you use a tape and measure yourself and then use the chart to choose the correct size.

Once you determine the correct size for you, the fit of the jacket is easy. It’s an easy style with only a slight taper from chest to waist, which means most body types will do just fine with it. We’ve included a waist/belly measurement so you can make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough for both your chest and belly. Those with a waist that is trimmer than the chart indicates for their chest size can use the adjustment straps to customize the fit with no problem.

Jacket Size Max Chest Our Estimate
of Max Belly/Waist
Small 34-37 35
Medium 37-39 37
Large 39-41 39
XL 41-44 42
XXL 44-46 44
XXXL 46-48 46
XXXXL 48-50 48

Our Two Cents

Some people buy a mesh jacket for use in the hottest weather and then they own another “three season” jacket for the cooler weather months. This Eclipse mesh jacket would be perfect for use just during the hottest summer months. It is made to be value priced with just the basic features you need. And of course the price can be more reasonable as compared to other jackets that offer more features, such as removable liners, etc. The overall quality of this jacket is the same as with other REV’IT products… which is very good, so you aren’t buying a “cheap” mesh jacket with this one.

This jacket comes with CE armor in the shoulders and elbows and the jacket comes with a pocket for the addition of a CE level 2 back protector (see size recommendations below). The jacket shell is mostly mesh but there are solid textile overlays over the shoulders and elbows, down each side of the torso and across the kidney belt area too. On the inside of the tail of the jacket, there is a snap-close loop in the back you can attach around your belt. This helps hold the tail of the jacket down at high speed and also helps prevent the jacket from rising above the pant waist if you fall.

There are three good color choices. I hear people tell me they choose the light silver for the hottest Florida or Arizona-type weather, and this year, you can get the brown which has become popular in recent years. And of course black is always in style. :: Paul, 02-02-17

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes Small or Medium, choose size 4; for Large thru XXL, choose size 5 and for XXXL and larger choose size 6.
