The HELD TITAN RR Gloves are a full gauntlet, summer riding glove that qualifies as a sport glove for the street or a racing glove for the track. In my opinion this is the top of the line glove that HELD offers, and coming in at a price point of $499 it is once of the most expensive and top of the line track gloves that we sell. So, what do you get for that price point? Overall construction for this glove is primarily kangaroo leather (keep in mind that we can not ship kangaroo leather to California), most other racing gloves have kangaroo on the palm but use goat leather everywhere else, that is not the case here, the entire construction is kangaroo with and a additional lining that is 69% Baumwolle, 31% Polyethylen and another that is 100 % Polyester. Held also uses its proprietary SUPROTECT® special foam, Armaprotect as well as Stingray Skin Leather.
Looking at protection features you get stingray skin reinforcement on the little finger, HELD Armaprotect protection on the back of the hand, SUPROTECT® shock-absorbing special foam on back of the hand & ball of thumb, Titanium knuckle protector, Edge of hand protection that is a hard plastic shell reinforced with titanium, side of hand & ball of the thumb reinforced with leather & Held Armaprotec, ball of the thumb & finger protected by highly abrasion-resistant stingray leather, underlaid with shock-absorbing gel, and ring- & pinkie finger bridge reinforced with Aramid ceramic polymermatrix coating. Overall the HELD TITAN RR Gloves achieved a CE Level 1 KP rating.
Other notable features include a tunnel strap, special step seams that avoid pressure points on the inner hand while enhancing feel, perforated finger side walls, a new sewing technology was utilized that offers more protection, elasticated leather panels on the back of the hand, thumbs and fingers, and a pre-formed, crease free palm.
Overall these gloves are expensive, but rightfully so as they are amazing! They are by far the most comfortable racing gloves I have every tired on and offer the best flexibility, feel and dexterity of all of the racing gloves that I have tried on in the above $300 price range (basically every racing glove from the major brands). The basically full kangaroo construction offers a flexibility that goat leather just can’t touch, the TITAN RR gloves just feel light and almost unbelievably thin for how much protection they offer. Also at the $500 price range you expect a bit of an experience, and HELD doesn’t disappoint as the TITAN RR gloves come in a factory sealed box that includes a full diagram of your gloves and all of its features/construction, with each glove in its own separate compartment wrapped in a packing paper. The TITAN RR gloves for HELD come in five different colors all of which I think look good. Needless to say this pair of gloves is a serious investment at the price point, but if you need a top of the line glove, I don’t think that you will be disappointed. If I had to nitpick a complaint, it would be that I am surprised that at the $500 price point that these gloves are not Level 2 (I know Level 2 gloves are fairly rare, but there are level 2 gloves in the $3-400 range, so at $500 I was hoping for that rating). :: Damir 6/21/24
