Our Two Cents
The Tundra gloves from FirstGear are moderately insulated and waterproof. We’ve got gloves with more insulation, but as the thickness of insulation increases, your ability to feel the controls decreases. If you ride in cold-ish to mild weather, you’ll probably like the weight of the insulation in this glove. The back side of the hand is largely textile materials, and there is Aramid material over the knuckles backed by a thin piece of shock absorbing D3O® material for some added abrasion protection (the shock absorbing pad behind the Aramid is pretty minimal though, so don’t expect to be blown away by a fabulously secure feeling when you try these on :) ). These gloves have a generous gauntlet that will easily slip over jacket sleeves and there is a bungee type cord you can use to cinch them down to seal out rain and wind. The leather palms are comfortable and will provide good grip and feel. On the outside heel of the hand, there is another patch of the Aramid/D3O to offer some crash protection since this part of the hand is instinctively the first to hit the pavement in case of a spill. Another feature you’ll like is the little rubber wiper thingy on the left thumb which you can use to squeegee down your helmet shield. The insides are lined with a plush material that feels good. These gloves have fantastic nighttime reflectivity. We did a night shot in our photo gallery to give you the idea. Overall a very nice glove that is functional and affordable. :: Paul, 03-05-13

First Gear Tundra gloves are awesome! They are waterproof, which is important up here in the Pacific NW as it rains often. They are warm, but not overwhelming. (Read more...)
