I decided to take the plunge and get a couple of additional shields for my helmet. They're not too difficult to change on my IS-Max. Now I have a choice between clear, dark tinted, and mirrored shields, with or without the dark tinted retractable SunShield; I should be good to go in all visibility conditions. The Dark Smoke shield is sufficiently tinted, as expected, and should be great for sunny summer days. I didn't quite know what to expect with the RST Mirrored shield; it's more "highly reflective" than it is "mirrored," that is, it's not like a 2-way mirror as I had been anticipating. The photos on the item's page actually do a decent job of showing its reflectivity, but you ultimately have to see it in person to decide if it's really for you. Nevertheless, it has a very nice finish and I'm glad I bought it despite the price premium.
