Sizing Information

We tried on a selection of sizes in this boot and found it to fit us just about right as compared to the stated size, so I’d advise you to buy the size you normally wear in men’s street shoes. If you are between sizes, I’d recommend the small since the toe box is quite roomy.

I’d estimate the width as “D” or “E” which is a touch wider than the average shoe. The boots lace up, so there is a lot of adjustability for fit as long as the length is right.

Our Two Cents

The new Brigand boot for 2020 is a good looking hiker style riding boot. It has modern styling and some added ankle protection for motorcycling.

The best things about this boot are the padded neoprene collar around the ankle and the easy-to-use lacing system. The laces aren’t anything “new” in the world, but sometimes “quick” lace systems aren’t so quick in practice. but these seem to work well. Just give a yank and the laces pull evenly through the eyelets to snug things down. Then you wrap around the top two eyelets and tie them off. Boom, done.

I mentioned the collar of the boot because this one has a wide padded area of molded neoprene. The neoprene is lined with leather on the inside and they just feel great. There are some small armor inserts built in on each side of the ankle bone. They are a soft and comfortable material. You can see where they are located because there is a molded/raised area visible from the outside. Those who hate breaking in hiker style boots will like these comfort features.

The heel area is reinforced well and the toe box is only moderately reinforced. I’ve seen better, but I’ve also seen a lot worse. The sole is thick and has a nice semi-chunky tread which works well on the bike.

You may think the sides of the boot are perforated, but those are just printed in the leather to add style. But the tongue of the boot is padded fabric which breathes well so they should flow enough air to be comfortable over a wide temp range.

Overall, I’ll give these boots good marks for comfort and style. :: Paul, 5-14-20.

Icon says: Stylish and never one to shy away from an unpleasant encounter, the Brigand™ boot comes ready for action. The full-grain leather chassis features a hidden ghillie lacing system for a secure fit with minimal fuss. Neoprene tongue and ankle collar provide the ventilation and comfort needed for an all-day boot. Visually defining shifter interface ribs and D3O® ankle inserts top off this riding boot package. Tough enough to take the heat, yet sophisticated enough for date night, the Brigand™ is an all-around crowd-pleaser.
