Sizing Information
This jacket is over-sized to fit over certain Klim summer mesh jackets that are not waterproof (such as the Adventure Rally Air jacket) We suggest you choose the same size you wear in the jacket you plan to wear under this rain jacket. This jacket could be worn over any brand of protective jacket (there is nothing in the construction that would prevent that).
If you plan on wearing this rain jacket without a protective jacket under it, then choose one size smaller than you normally wear in men’s clothing.
Our Two Cents
The Gore-Tex Over-Shell jacket is the highest quality, highest tech rain jacket we’ve ever sold…. by FAR. This jacket is over-sized to fit over Klim (or really any) protective riding jacket. A jacket like this can transform any full mesh or perforated leather jacket into a waterproof/breathable jacket.
The shell of this rain jacket is fairly amazing and unlike anything else we’ve ever sold. The material is sturdy feeling, and has a slightly soft “touch” to it. And it is stretchy… not a lot but some. The fabric is bonded to layers of Gore-Tex material to make it impervious to water coming in, but it remains breathable so your body moisture can escape. People who are familiar with Gore-Tex swear by it. And this bonded technology is the best of all the Gore-Tex products in this regard. The shell is unlined and there is a a final boded layer on the back side that is sort of like a micro fleece feeling material.
The neck has a unique design. The top of the jacket around your collar bone area has a connecting zipper to attach the collar. There are two collars that come with the rain jacket… a “normal” height one and also a taller one. The taller one fits over a Leatt neck brace which is an option to the Adventure Rally Air jacket. But besides that functionality, I can see it being a neat feature to help you get the best possible fit around your neck depending upon the length of your neck, helmet design, etc. The upper seam of the collar is rolled and is soft neoprene so you can get a good seal without chaffing.
Other nice things… good reflectives (see our photo gallery), a two way zipper so you can open the bottom end of the jacket if you like, an elastic draw cord built into the bottom hem of the jacket. non-snaggy Velcro used everywhere and the same soft rolled edge as the collar around the sleeve ends.
