Sizing Information
I measured a selection of these pants and found the waist size of the pants to measure out consistently at 2” larger than the stated size. Most men’s jeans will be sized this way these days…. it’s called vanity sizing. We recommend you measure your waist or the waist band of your favorite jeans to see what size pants you need. The waist sizes for each pant size can be adjusted down by 2 to 3 inches with the side waist adjusters.
Inseam on the regular size pants is about 33” and inseam on the tall size pants is about 35”.
Here is a chart I put together to show you how each pant size measures out so you can select the size based upon what you come up with when you measure yourself.
Pant Size | Max Waist Size | Inseam Regular | Inseam Tall |
---|---|---|---|
30 | 32 | 33 | - |
32 | 34 | 33 | 35 |
34 | 36 | 33 | 35 |
36 | 38 | 33 | 35 |
38 | 40 | 33 | 35 |
40 | 42 | 33 | - |
42 | 44 | 33 | - |
Our Two Cents
These Klim Voyage Air pants are for mild to hot weather use. Most of the shell both front and back are full mesh material, some areas are solid textile (have a look at our close-up pictures) and the knees are leather to help beef up the pant’s protection capabilities. But being MOSTLY mesh, these pants will work well for mild to HOT weather. For most people, that will be about half the year.
The leather on these pants is the same as used on the Apex Air jacket, and as an outfit, it would be a great matchup. The pants would also work well with the full mesh Induction jacket. The pants don’t have vent closing capability like the Apex, but keep in mind that your legs don’t get nearly the wind blast as the upper body and even though you can’t close off the pants, they’ll probably work well in the same temps as the Apex.
The pant legs have LARGE adjustment for boot size, so you can use just about any boot style you have. At the waist are side adjusters (very usual) and there is a strip of stretch material below the waistband in the back to help prevent the dreaded plumber’s butt. One “miss” with the pants is the design of the knee armor pocket. It is supposed to allow adjustment of the armor for taller or shorter riders, but it is a bad design and doesn’t allow this. I tried the “regular” inseam pants and the height worked fine for me. If you wear the inseam sizes listed in the size chart, you should be fine, but if you are shorter than the listed size, it may be a problem.
Overall, I find these pants to be sharp and well made and certainly rugged as compared to most any other summer mesh style. :: Paul, 04-13-17
