Sizing Information
Below is the size chart developed by Tourmaster for this product. We’ve checked these pants against the chart and we find it is accurate, so our recommendation is to use the chart and choose based on your waist measurement. For most people, they can buy the size they buy in men’s jeans for a good fit. These pants are slightly vanity sized, but if you plan to wear them as overpants you’ll need to meaure yourself over any pants or shorts that you plan to wear under them. We measured with the liner installed, when you remove it they will open up a bit from the max waist size listed. The waist band of this pant has a multi-point closure and includes side adjusters so that you can customize the fit down quite a bit from the max listed.

Our Two Cents
The Intake Air pants from Tourmaster are a pair of warm weather riding pants that also come with a removable waterproof liner for those times when the weather gets a bit unpredictable. Overall construction is a combination of abrasion resistant mesh, with a 600 denier Polyester shell, Armor-Link mesh panels as well as Ultra-high denier Cordura at the knees and seat for added abrasion resistance. This combination earns the Intake Air pants a CE Level A abrasion resistance rating. Additionally these pants include a removable, waterproof and breathable liner that features a side closure making it possible to take on and off with boots on. Additionally impact protection comes in the form of the included Armanox® knee and hip armor, both of which are CE Level 1 rated.
Moving over to comfort and convenience features, The Intake Air pants include a Mag-Close magnetic side closure system for easier access, a Fidlock® brand magnetic front closure with zippered fly, dual elastic adjustment waist straps on an extended yoke to ensure a better fit, 4-way stretch gussets at the crotch, backs of knees, and lower thigh to help improve movement, as well as what Tourmaster calls a “Comfort-Ride” relaxed fit with articulated knees for a more comfortable riding position. Additional features include durable YKK® brand zippers at pockets and fly as well as Tourmasters usual 4 year workmanship and materials warranty.
Overall at $179.99 the Intake Air pants are on the higher end of cost compared to some of the other Tourmaster offerings, and personally I am not sure if they are worth the cost. Yes the magnetic side closures are actually quite useful and they hide the zippers really well, but I found the main closure being magnetic with an almost old school rollerblade ratcheting strap closure to be a bit annoying and really didn’t see the benefit in it over a regular zipper and button closure. Also, with the liner installed, the pants felt almost “kid snow pants” bulky to me and I just didn’t feel natural walking around in them. And without the liner, they just seemed a bit too lose and baggy, personally I wasn’t a fan of how they fit me. Yes I understand the cost savings at $179.99 vs some of the $220 to $320 priced options from brands like Klim, REV’IT! and Alpinestars, but for me, the extra cost in those brands is justified for the much higher level of fit, comfort and mobility. Check the Intake Air pants out if they are in your budget, but if you can go higher in budget, I would recommend it. :: Damir 7/19/24
